This month i have decided that i need to shed a few well quite a few pounds after jumping on the scales last night as i can no longer fit into my 88cm work trousers and have gone up to a 92cm with a belt
I’ve taken up swimming and cycling but i think its my pack up that needs tweaking as well as what i eat in the evening for tea.
my job is fairly physical, lifting bags pushing cages etc etc so obvisouly need a pack up that will give me enough cals to get me through day that it wont requrie me needing10 mars bars for some energy when i get home but is also healthy.
i usualy take a home made sandwich, packet of crisps an apple and a chocolate bar and a litre bottle of squash,
so just wondering what other people pack up or anythng you can suggest??
Cut out the bread, crisps, chocolate bars and squash for a start . And yes I did mean to say bread. Bread is evil and serves no purpose other that increasing your waist line.

I make my own bread and there is nothing extra added that should make me a porker, I blame beer, peanuts and crisps.
Unless flour is fattening. I use one spoon of sugar in a loaf, one half a spoon of salt and 2 spoons of sunflower or olive oil.
For me it is the slab of proper butter I put on the bread
You’ve got to find what suits you. Some people do better on high protein diet, others find cutting out red meat and going for whole grains is better for them. I tried the Dukan diet, which is low fat and low carb pretty easy to stick to. Just put Dukan into the search box and loads will come up about it. But ditch the chocolate and crisps.
I had been on a moderate diet for over 20 years with being close to diabetic, although cream cakes and large dinners in moderation were not excluded!
After being diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes 2 years ago was not such a blow as my diet, such as it was, kept my diabetic level stable.
However, with getting no younger, and the situation only risked getting worse,I tightened up my diet and went from 14 and a half stone, down to 12 stone 9 in only 6 weeks! My waist went from 38" down to 34" and I feel much better for it.
I do not drink a lot these days, but I did like a large glass of wine with my dinner, that’s stopped.
I’ve cut out the cream cakes.
For puddings now,I have a Weigthwatchers fruit yoghurt.
Sandwiches for work are 4 slices of multiseed bread,(thin slices), with Weigthwatchers Tuna with tomato,2 Weightwatchers fruit yoghurts and a banana.
If I do a long shift and I feel I must eat before I get home,I stop at an MSC and get a toasted tuna panini and make that do as my mid day meal.
We eat red meat only twice a week, the rest of the time we eat chicken but mostly fish, with potatoes or oven chips and PLENTY of vegatables.
Once every few weeks,we buy a fruit pie from the supermarket and have a quarter each with low fat squirty cream on as a treat.
If I get snacky,I have a banana.
I try to discipline myself to walk as much as possible.I try and do about 5 miles up to 3 times a week, even if it’s only walking into town and catching the bus back again.
When I go for my 3 monthly diabetic blood test,my levels are now below diabetic level!
I have to maintain this regime now,as my wife has thrown all my 38" strides away, saying I wont need them anymore! And she has made me buy a complete new wardrobe.
It does not take long to get into the habit, and it’s well worth it!
