What a really naff week I have had.
Started Sun night at 8.00pm, up to Ben &nJerry’s, down to Albany NY for some unknown work on the truck. I go to Albany at 04.00 and the night mechanics had no idea why I was there ? … so sleep till 07.00 and ask day shift who inturn had no idea why so off I went to NYC and just made it as my time ran out. I took 12 hours off and set out for Buffalo, NY, 8 hours and 415 miles later I arrive and find no room in the tanks, so back to bed for 2 hours then after unloading I headed for Pembroke NY Flying J for fuel and showers. 10 hours off then back through the night to NYC, all I could do is load two traiers for other guys as there was nowt else for me. At 4.00pm weds I get a call to head to Langhorne PA to take a trailer out next day to Hazelton PA. Spent 10 hours on site and set out the next day at 06.00am. the drive to Hazelton was beautifull to say the least. I had nevr driven the northeastern spur of the Penna Pike before north of Allentown, tunnels, mountains and deep ravines are everywhere with amazing views.
I got out of there at 10.00am and headed back to NYC stopping for a showere at Columbia NJ TA. I had to load 2 preloads and my own Ben & Jerry load to bring home.
All week spent away and mostly in NYC. So I set out sun at 20.00 and return fri at 17.00 but I dont have to start till mon at 13.00 to make up for it. The good side is I I still get the minimum weekly pay
At least you made some drivers happy Pat, pre loading their trailers for them so they could just turn and burn.
