Leaving today 27th Dec - follow the blog it as it happens if you like or wait a week or so and read the lot. She says there are no promises as to how quickly she can post each entry. As always, the most recent one comes first so it may be easier to scroll down to the start of this trip (called “new trip” I think) and then click next to follow it in order. Www.Lorrygirl.wordpress.com cheers.
Will do because the last one was excellent.
Brilliant read and well written, you should take up a career as a journalist.Lefe beer in one photo i saw.
The ambulance is also a fire engine, one thing that will never catch on in the UK.
It is a pity that the truckstop at the BP at Zaragoza has gone down hill, the last time i went in there, it was full of flies, and staff did not care much, it was a good meeting place for Euro drivers for a chin wag and jugs of vino tinto.
I prefered the short cut routes via Almazan and Dona Godina.
The 101, very scenic, no Police about, but the odd weighbridge was open 24 hours at some times.
Great!!
Your other half has a wonderful way of describing your trips, read upto tonight which was fantatstic, i’ll catch up on the rest on Tuesday when I’m home.

Having given up euro work 8 months ago to be home more , I’ve had the odd pang to jump back to the old job. Reading this has given me a massive pain in the heart. God I miss the job more than I thought I would.
Hope the missus & kids don’t read this or they will realise it’s only a matter of time.
It would be very easy to read this go away and not thank you …For all the time and effort you put into this brilliant escapade …many thanks… whilst I never did continental this route is one I have travelled many times to the sun since retiring…
I do enjoy these, she has a lovely way with words. This stuck out for me ‘comforting, detached sensation of not quite being part of the world outside, just being a observer. And then when and where it suits (the lorry generally, not always suiting us) we jump out and interact’…I always felt that, from the very moment I started going with my Dad over 30 years ago! Its a bit like being in your house looking at the outside through a window! As for the Abbeville peage…well to my shame Ive never noticed it in the huge amount of times Ive been through it. I will next time though!
Nice read when sat at home on a wet miserable Saturday, I hope to be heading that way again soon and I’ll be looking for those poppies this time.
Very nicely written , enjoyed it. I have not driven through the forest towards Irun for several years but had heard it is now 3 lanes all the way, shame it wasn’t like that years ago when we used to do that road most weeks in our GBE Pegasso Troners to Portugal or Madrid…
Well done Donna a thoroughly good read.
Good balance of interesting pics and well written comments.I’ve only read this one but will
definitely do the others as well.When/where to is the next one?
