My first fail..

As the title suggests, as a couple from this forum whom have me on facebook will already know this but as most on here won’t today was the date of my first driving test regarding the car license. And well as the title suggests it didn’t go so well :laughing:

The result being I got 2 minors and 2 serious.

The 2 serious marks weren’t for anything like causing an accident. The first serious mark was on my independant drive, I was told to follow the signs for Pontefract taking the A1 north now at around 2:50 the road certainly wasn’t all that busy from my memory, The road I was meant to turn off at I thought was further down the road instead the examiner said ‘you need this one here’ so I indicated last minute and pulled in baring in mind nothing slowed down for me nor did I cut anyone up, but if it was a busier situation or slightly different I understand it could have ended up differently/worse so I understand why I failed on that. The other serious being when I was asked to pull up in a safe place and I ended up pulling in just after the van and I was failed on being in the way of other traffic simply because a car came racing round and had to stop back up and go around which I’m a bit half and half whether that was a fair mark as traffic easily got round no bother apart from that one car!

I somewhat knew I had failed when I had got back to the test centre but not what I had thought I failed on, heartbroken/gutted wasn’t the words to describe how I felt when the examiner told me but as such my instructor told me to not look towards the serious marks but to look at the minors I had got as 2 minors is impressive on any test never mind in strong wind and heavy rain but it doesn’t seem to matter an inch I still feel like ■■■■ about it plus not sure whether I should be doing that! :frowning:

Nevertheless I asked my instructor to book 2nd next test as soon as possible which I’ve been told could be sometime at the back end of March so I can only hope it’s not too far in the future. At least I know what to work on at least just to be a bit more observant of where I’m going and I know what to expect in my next test (Although I hope I don’t have the same examiner, seemed like he was reading off a script when he spoke to you!)! I’m out tomorrow anyway with the camera to cheer ones self up a little bit! Just thought I’d share my little adventure for today :slight_smile: Hope everyone else has had a good day!

So was this your car driving test (Cat B)?

Either way whatever it was. I know how you feel, I failed my first car driving test and my first Cat C test, passed both second time. And on both fails I felt like absolute tihs. So disheartened, and I never felt better until I retook them. You’ve just got to keep telling yourself you can do it. And,get back out there and show yourself! You will get there.

And yes alan it was my Car driving test, I was so set on passing it first time as I made a complete ■■■■ up of my mock test the week before on the last lesson as I had managed to get 3 serious and 7 minors on as nerves struck a part on me but nerves didn’t bat an eyelid on my actual test until the bits I mucked up! I’m just trying to keep a positive light about it, I keep saying to myself if not for the serious marks I would have had a cracking pass sheet to send off! But I’ll have another 2 months wait until then :slight_smile: All I can do is think of what to improve on and keep the motivation higher (and tell ones self the best drivers don’t pass first time :laughing: ) but as for now it’s back to driving lessons and working on what needs to be worked on!

I failed my first driving test.
Came to a long pedestrian crossing, slowed down approaching it, got to within 10 feet of it, and started accelerating. One one end of the crossing is a burger bar. As I started pulling away, someone ran out of the shop, straight onto the crossing and stopped beside the car. I was on the crossing before he was, but he still failed me for it.

All the best drivers pass second time. :wink:

Cheers for that folks, My test has been rebooked the earliest date being the 9th of April at 9:37! :cry: A long wait that’s for sure but I’ll make sure the wait was well worth it :sunglasses: Determined to pass second time!
