Hi, I just saw this in a job advert, “MUST have no more than 12 current points for infringements on card” I didn’t realise infringements had a points system. Is this real or made up?

12 points on your DCRS score. 12 is quite high tbh. At my previous employer 7 points on your DCRS score triggered counselling from memory.

Driver compliance risk score. Dcrs.

Certain levels of points means the company take certain actions. From counselling aka advice on how to avoid these infringements and or training to even getting the sack.

I’ve only ever heard of an Operator compliance risk score.
How would I find out my Driver compliance risk score? (Although presumably it’s zero)

Ask your company, it will most likely be saved on their tacho software. It should also be shown on any infringements you may have signed previously.

It depends on software and company policies.

DCRS Introduction

The Driver Compliance Reporting System provides an entirely new way to manage your Driver’s performance.

Using a score based system a Driver accrues a user defined number of points per infringement. On reaching a certain number of points they reach a new level and a procedure is raised. The procedure will display the necessary action to be carried out to the user.

The number of points, levels, procedures and actions are all customisable within Tachomaster allowing you to refine the settings to your own requirements.

Infringements may be excluded from DCRS by marking them as being caused by Unforeseen Events or Manual Infringements may be added.

Overview of a Worker in DCRS

Each label along the bottom represents 1 month

The level the worker was on (Lvl)

How many DCRS points (Pts) and

How many infringement points were accumulated that month in brackets.

The number of points required to go up each Level is customisable. In the example above, 4 points is required for each Level until Level 6 - which requires 5 points. After 3 months of no infringements the worker moves down to the previous Level

That’s from Tachomaster the most common software that most big companies use for analysis.

After 3 months of no infringements your DCRS points will drop and change the level and which action might or might not be required at the new dcrs level. It is all customizable as to what point infringements are given and what amount of points triggers the next level as I understand it in tachomaster at least.

As said, this is just the “score” on the tachograph analysis software. I’m familiar with the TruTac system, I don’t know how directly that would compare to eg Aquarius or Tachomaster.

If you work for one specific employer, you should be given every month an “infringement report” to sign - even when there may be zero infringements to be accounted for. On that report should be your “risk score”. Next time ask your TM (or whoever is giving it to you), to show you where it is.

If it’s the RHA branded version of a TruTac D14, it should be in the left hand corner above the part you sign your name.

Personally, even my worst-ever “infringer” was nowhere near 12 points on the RHA/TruTac scale, so it sounds to me like this company would take just about anyone. But, software scorings may differ greatly.

If you went for a job with this company, all they could judge you on was the data on your card, and any decent company is going to make a job offer contingent on a satisfactory recent driver record.
