I would like advice on which MP3 players to buy to play music and podcasts through the aux source on my truck as my ancient ipod has died.
I use a standard 3.5mm aux cable and change the source button on radio, plus charge the player via USB.
I am unsure what to buy, does not need to be Ipod, just want an idea of what others are using and what software you are using to load music on the device.
Your Samsung will possibly have google play music installed on it already. If you’ve got all your existing music stored on a laptop, you should be able to upload it to google music and listen your tunes on your phone. Alternatively you could subscribe to google music for £9.99 per month and have access to almost 40 million songs. This saves all the faffing around trying to upload music from your laptop to your phone. Spotify and Apple Music are available on Android devices too. Same monthly price. I prefer Apple Music as I’ve got an iPhone, but they are all much the same. But I’m sure with Spotify, you have the ability to subscribe and listen to podcasts through that app. Don’t think you can do this with google and Apple Music, you need separate podcast apps for this.
Loads of free apps on Google play for podcasts and music.
Beware if you use something like Spotify to stream music from internet it will eat your mobile data allowance.
I use podbean for podcasts very easy and endless options.
For music best long term option if you don’t want to pay monthly but have loads of cd’s of your favourite music is to get somebody to convert them to MP3 for you (need a pc computer).
Then get a memory card for your phone to store them and just use a basic MP3 player to listen
If you have Spotify premium you can download quite a quantity of music to play offline - download at home on your wi-fi then play in the truck from your phone.
As mentioned, put a decent sized SD card in the phone and play music and downloaded podcasts from there. Also, if possible, use Bluetooth to connect to save having cables everywhere.

Has anyone ever driven a Volvo as they are the only ones posh enough to have Bluetooth?
Has anyone ever gotten bluetooth to work in a truck while driving a Volvo on agency? (See point 1).
The Actros has fully functioning Bluetooth and except for one or two issues with some Android phones (easily fixed) it works very well. I use it all the time.

Afaik MAN’s only let you Bluetooth your phone for calls, at least I’ve never managed to pair it for media, I use one of those bluetooth radio transmitters, it plugs into the ciggy lighter socket you tune your radio to 106.0 FM (or whatever you set the transmitter up as) and that way I can use the MAN’s sub standard media centre to listen to my Amazon Prime tunage.
