Mugs job if anybody interested?

kjw21:
This is what the RHA should be fighting against. Not galavanting around various gala nights and other such ■■■■■■■■. I know people will say they are only for operators but [zb] me this one needs gripping if they think that is right and fair.

And if ND come back saying the pay is like that cos the rates aren’t there then that allegedly makes it even more an RHA issue if they are for operators.

Why doesn’t an industry journalist ask a few pertinent questions of this firm as to why they feel this is a fair wage in their view? And then compare to other firms within the same niche with better conditions and ask how/why the difference.

The RHA as an effective voice of the haulier is totally irrelevant and always has been, the one and only reason we kept our membership up at Bewick Transport was the simple fact that the RHA conditions of carriage and warehousing were accepted by the insurance industry as the “bench mark” and I can say that these conditions did,on a couple of occaisions, enable us to avoid major loses from customers that had ceased trading.Otherwise, forget it,the RHA is crap  Bewick.

Hahahahahahahaha!!

Bet you can’t buy a three bed semi for that wage in Thurrock area…

Seriously, any driver that takes that needs certifying…and a psychiatrist to help them get over such low self esteem… :open_mouth:

i’ll take it

bugger i’ve no adr

can i do it for minimum wage without one

■■■■ that I was paid more at 18 in a puddle jumper after my boss paid for me to do my test.ill stay put for now I think.

FFS you can get £6.50 working in a kitchen

The job is advertised at that rate because in this day and age some ■■■■■■■ numpty will take it. If not they will import some east European to do it. That’s about the state the Govenment the EU and the drivers have let the industry get itself into.

no need to import…they`re already here.this advert seems obvious to me,in that it is targeting non natives, who they know will work for that rate.

ermmmmm…no thanks

notice how not one person on here has said yes please yet

i bet they are filling in the application forms

at the end of the day the top line per week is a pretty good wage outside of trucking you got bills n kids n wife your gonna do it or become homeless

£23,192 pa. Is not great but that is not a bad wage for a 20 odd year old living with parents building a portfolio of experience. Or the other choice Jeremy Kyle and dole money.

Not for one second saying its right but I can see why people would do it

i’ll apply, just so i can tell them to [zb] off.

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: that job offer is really taking the p :smiling_imp:

The trouble is when you get one company offering such a low wage to do a specialist job, or indeed any job for a ‘scraping the barrel’ wage, there will be other companies who will always try to follow suit, this follow the ‘low wage leader’ syndrome can have a realy bad effect on the overall wages on offer in certain areas
Resulting in people who through life’s circumstances may have to take up their offer, & either way its keeping people on the poverty line , if there is nothing else available in the area :frowning: :frowning:

Myself, I would relocate ! For a decent paying job

So c’mon! Who did take it?

No it’s not a fair job for a lad at home with his parents! It’s a professional job that needs expensive qualifications and extensive training and should be paid accordingly, old young at home or otherwise. You should not be expected to do this work for what is essentially minimum wage. ND taking the ■■■■. P&O Roadtanks paid more than this for GP drivers 15 years ago.

Maybe people from foreign countries!, or someone who doesn’t want a the ‘dole or benefits label ,gap’ between jobs, or maybe some one would use it as a stepping stone whilst waiting for another job to start.

Seemingly there are people who drive for the company already!!, perhaps the wages could be negotiable, even if not stated in the ad!!. :sunglasses:

fredthered:
So c’mon! Who did take it?

Probably someone forced to by the Jobcentre under the threat of having their benefits stopped

Best not to let the jobcentre know you’ve got a licence then eh?

Bking:
I wonder if dear old Norbert dressingtable could get a Frenchman to work for that kind of money?

Sacre blue NON!!!

Old Norbert is just another bloody stobart but with a red livery

Whats the french for bloody shiester.

Hence why large swathes of said company have been systematically re-populated with Poles and lately with Romanians. Surely this will be coming to a ND depot near you in the future once cabotage is abolished and RO trucks can work internally without restriction.

oatcake1967:
£6.66 The hourly rate of the beast.

You got that right mate :grimacing: What a liberty, the epitome of the origional bag of [zb]
