i seem to remember you saying freshlinc had the contract which is what i queried but what do i know?
if i only ever see CE and frio ejido tipping in the store then i can only comment on what i see, i had a PM off one of the drivers for CE and he told me CE still had the contract and subbed the rest to frio ejido who he also says are partly owned by stubbins but maybe he’s wrong as well, who knows and quite frankly who cares as morrisons is not the best of shops around
im not being funny mate but i never said they had the contract. if you read what i said it was that they were going down and working WITH and Continental Express just to get them down there so they could load there own loads back to there farms. if you read through back my posts properly it never says ‘they have got the contract’. working with or doing loads for is totally different.

didn’t think you were being funny. from the PM i got from the CE driver freshlinc are trying to undercut them and not working with them
Freshlinc seem to be experts at under cutting everyone they done that last year to GIST & took a dutch flower contract off of them then tried to offer the jobs back to some of the Gist drivers for more than a pound an hour less than Gist were paying then they couldnt work out why they couldnt get english drivers to work for them ! What a surprise the poles they got to do the job out there hit everything that moved or tried to move it then they started to moan about vehicle damage.

How do you think GIST got the job before!? Massively undercut Fowler Welch to get the job and put Fowler Welch drivers out of work. Thats the way it is these contracts come up for tender every so many years so you cant really blame freshlinc. As for offering jobs back do you mean doing un-accompanied trailers from harwich and felixstowe as GIST didnt have any drivers out there anymore. GIST are still doing flowers over there anyway Van Dongens do it for them as they are part of the GIST group. Most of the guys are actually English on the flower job and the ones that arent are lithuanian!!
They all cut the job to bits but thats transport for you i did the Felixstowe to Spalding job for 3 years & done the Holland side regular & they were like you say english guys on it great bunch to work with. Also done some jobs for Van Dongen out there good clean work and had many years doing Benelux work for other firms but none as easy as flower job
I rather doubt that Van Dongen are part of the GIST group. GIST is owned by the Linde fork truck company, they got it when they took over BOC as Linde’s other big business is industrial gases.

i think you will find that they are part of GIST mate. Just pop yourself onto www.vandongen.eu and go onto the About Us section and it will tell you on there they was taken over by GIST back in 2005.
Yes, your right i’m shocked. Bit odd they say it is an english company, it’s german at the very top of the tree. I’ve done work for GIST and never knew they owned Van Dongen, which is a great company. Had many dealings with them in my earlier life in european work. It’s odd with GIST, when Linde took over BOC the word was they would flog off the transport. It was only really when they saw how much money they were able to screw out of Marks and Sparks they decided to keep it. Perhaps now that a dutchman has taken over the running of M&S he will now take a look at the distribution side, GIST have been having it away for years.
yes can confirm c-express are still doing the work and yes its double maned
