Well lets face it, from our (the supplier driver) perspective then it cant get any worse!
They may have good logistics as far as they are concerned but what about the delays to the logistics of all the firms who wait for hours on end at the RDC’s? I have never had a good tip at any Morrisons, always waiting for hours for just a few pallets to be tipped. I do the “breaking down pallets” thing as well (but dont see why I should) as I hoped that it would speed things up.
Just this last saturday I was in Sittingbourne with 7 pallets of bread, all 1 line item, how long? 5 hours! I was on time for the booking, no breaking down required, they were just “very busy”.
Is it just me■■?
It would seem so
Maybe your face don’t fit I’m usually in and out in an hour .
Only really had problems at Morrisons at Wakefield,Bellshill and Swan Valley with silly waiting about! All the others were pretty good! That was on the Ambient side though!!
I found Sittingbourne to be a great tip overnight! Never tipped during the day at any of them though!

Hmm, a bulldog eating Milky Bars, does the vet know?
My mate used to deliver to Wakefield Jnc 41 Indust estate (?)
Booked a day out to do them, only delivering statioery for the stores nothing complex one item line, crazy.
Plus the price Morrison had drilled the stationery down to made it virtually worthless.
Better a few pence profit than nowt though
Last couple of times I tipped at Wakefield ambient it has been fine. Half hour wait for a bay, quick tip (hard to keep up with the curtains) pull out, go for breakfast (ignoring the signs), collect paperwork and off. Maybe an hour and a quarter total. (with a half hour break).
Maybe its just chill then? Maybe its just me?
The two new RDCs have helped Morrisons reduce lead times to its stores, with a drive towards reducing inventory and stockless environments in the future
Stockless environments means Just-in-Time deliveries like the car factories. If they can do it then it will mean: On the bay at the booking time with stiff fines for being late, fast tip and away.

Which is exactly how it should be, everybody is happy then!

I did a spell on fridges about 10 years ago, back then everybody was moaning about the horrendous waiting times at tescos rdc’s. I never have a problem with tesco now, very rare its over 2 hours for a full tip. I took 20 pallets of mixed produce into Widnes yesterday and was back out in under 40 minutes (I turned up an hour early as well)
went to their new place in Bridgewater last monday, what a place to get into, anyway i had 3 Pallets of bananas, parked on ramp handed over keys and paperwork given a tag to put on bay door to let warehouse bod know that a truck is on ramp.so far so good, unloaded in about 4 mins.
then i go for a pee thinking my paperwork would be ready when i return…wrong … so i wonder back into warehouse where my pallets been unloaded and mr and mrs clipboard breaking down the boxes off the pallets and examing every banana i was there nearly 4 hours and they refused half the load.
They seem to have their finger in a few pies, we used to use john mitchell to pick up loads in a container then take it to the train, now its morrisons that comes into our depot. I thought everything they done was for the purpose of the supermarket but it seems they do independent work too

go there very regular on chill[sittingbourne],im always straight on bay,i then go in and strip down pallets for 1/2 hr,i then get phil or d to sign my drop and drive ticket,im then off, phil [tipper//forkie] is sound, once he know you, sees youll do a bit hell often sign you up/tell you to get off after a pallet or even when you get there
kettering, went there recent and soon as lad had tipped tri he signed drop and drive ticket and stuck it on door/leveler control box, again in and out in no time
wakfield-had nice foreign lad other week to tip me,did 3 pallets and he told me too get off, been told our contracts manager says our contract with morrisons is too strip 2/3 pallets, get security pass and go,not 26 palls, that place is the one i hate its normally the lot,but after some argy, bargy with one of our driver, contracts manger for morrisons was rang, and as i say he says the contract is too strip 2/3 pallets then go,lad who does it regular is going to take a copy of what contract manager says
got the wakfield slightly wrong,it was our contract manager who deals with the morrisons contract who said 2/3 pallets max
