More A34-style antics giving us a bad name

I believe this southbound M11 at the top of the hill toward the M25 junction (between J7 and J6), rather than “near Harlow” as stipulated. Near where the Warburtons guy went off the road the other month…

You have the same problems with drivers half asleep approaching stationary traffic at the off-slip M25 J30/31 clockswise as well.

:frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Been said before, but it’s no wonder you lot have a bad name. All tarred with the same brush. Before the flak starts, I know it could have been a medical condition that caused it, but so many nowadays.

The old fella died in the car that got smashed into the concrete barrier by the truck that jackknifed in the 2nd clip, the occupants of the car that got smashed into the back of then hit by the truck that jackknifed were lucky to survive, a woman and young girl if I’m not mistaken.
The White truck at the front is one of our trucks. The ■■■■■■ that caused that fatal pile up had been working over 20 hours he’d come off the ferry and did a drop somewhere like Norfolk or Suffolk then went somewhere else quite far for a back load and was going back for the ferry when it happened. He got porridge for it.

I guess he must have been totally asleep at the moment of impact, as he’d not even bothered to get into lane 2 and avoiding the queue coming off for Thurrock.
NONE of us have got any excuses for “not being able to find a layby to sleep in” if need be.

It doesn’t help that at the other end of things, we have foreign trucks tucked behind those walls under motorway bridges though.
Perhaps a crackdown is needed based up “likelihood” rather than trying to crack down assuming everyone carries that same likelihood.

I suggest starting with those driving too close, and those on a known ferry route.

Meanwhile, this new 7.5t restriction on the M11 between 9 and 8 is USELESS because it’s only for the first hill - not the rest going towards Stanstead.

Whatever happened to the Convoy spirit?

The second video of the German driver smashing into a line of vehicles happened nearly 4 years ago.

lucky the two car drivers on the M11 left a gap tyres and tarmac between vehicles and lane 2 was empty on the first impact taking away the concertina effect always drumming this in to my wife
on the slip roads of the m11 especially j 7 south bound
where now i have seen a new trend of using the hard shoulder for queuing taking away any escape lane

We all need to be more careful as the volume of traffic on our daily routes continues to increase.

I passed a couple of clowns driving tankers last night coming up the same M11 hill northbound this time, doing around 35-40.

One pulls out into the middle lane to do an elephant overtake, and checks up all the traffic going back down the hill in lane 2. The cars are free to get over into lane 3 - but not the other trucks, me included of course. :unamused:

“If you cannot overtake in a reasonable time space - don’t pull out to start overtaking. Pull in behind, and drop a couple of clicks”

If someone has managed to catch me up (not hard, I’m limited to 52!) and pull alongside, surely the onus is on ME to drop a couple of clicks and let them past. The only time I don’t do this is if I’m struggling up a hill. It frustrates me that people find an extra k or two as I pull alongside them, stranding me in lane 2.
