The dodge commando tipper (which replaced the previous commando he had for a year) called “the grain train” it used to haul the brewers grain out of the newcastle brewery and deliver to farms for animal feed, this was driven through the day by Robin Bell and by John Robson at night, it only stopped on a sunday morning. The other commando was a flat bed called “the hay train” this was driven by the late Ronnie Johnson from corbridge. This used to deliver hay and straw. John also had a volvo f86 6 wheeler tipper, 2 stroke commers, Aec, Chinese 6 Bedford tk’s then an Erf 6*2 rigid driven by one of his sons, an ex Ken Thomas Ford Cargo artic then loads of Erf artic’s. He was known all over the country a proper good guy who never woke up on Christmas day 2005. We love and miss you each day Dad

Aye like you say John was a real nice bloke I used to see Him in The House Of Mayfair works at Cramlington qite a lot when he had the Ford Cargo Unit quite often at Morcambe at a wallpaper factory, Then in later years I used to see his ERFs at Preston Brook loading soap powder, The good old gone by days Eh, Regards Larry.

Thanks Larry, he was one of a dying breed. Will try and dig some pictures out and post them.

That would be great, Thank you, Larry
