Friday I left Philly with a load for Harrison NJ, empty by 09.00 and empty to Yonkers to collect a preloaded trailer of Molasses for Albany then home for the weekend by 4.30 pm. Monday I have a 3.00pm loading appt for delivery to Wilkes Barre (Pronouned Berry by these people) in PA, I had worked it out that leaving home at about 10.00am Monday so i get a lay in would be just fine untill I get the call to drop my empty molasses tanker at O J’s tank wash in Kerney NJ first, this will reall screw my lay in up as it needs to be there before 06.00am, so now I have to leave tonight (Sunday) and drop the empty for washing then run to Yonkers and have my 10 hours off… another Sunday ruined
On the bright side I have 11 days off on full pay starting on friday and I got a $1,000 christmas bonus this week.
Now its snowwing like hell and I have to bobtail 80 miles to get the trailer
Rather you than me! I’ll be on a transatlantic flight on Tuesday night for 3 weeks back in England.

3 weeks in the UK■■?, I’m flying out on the 14th Jan from Heathrow.
I might see you at the Airport robinhood.
Just look for the bloke wearing all of his gear, steel-toecap boots and a set of thermal overall’s over the top of that! (think Michelin Man! ) i just found out my baggage allowance is only 23kg…doh!, with 2 x 10kg for hand luggage.

We’ll be flying back on the 10th so wont get to see that spectacle! Find out how much it’d cost to send a second suitcase, I dont think its stupid money, and it’d be far cheaper than sending a box by post. A friend of mine who returned to England wanted to send a suitcase by DHL/Fedex, or one of them lot and they were after charging him more than it would have cost him to go on the plane with it himself on Air Canada! For an extra 80-100 quid (im guessing here) it would be well worth it, especially as you’re going out there fresh and starting from scratch with nothing other than is in your suitcase. I did exactly the same thing and ended up living in the truck for 18 months until I got my residence. The only good thing about doing that is that you can bank some serious money. For that first 18 months my only monthly outgoing was $55 for my phone. I saved up and bought a car outright for $5500 after being here a few months and payed about $800 to insure it for a year, again up front with money earnt and saved by living in the truck for a relitively short period of time by that point.

Another good reason living in the UK is far better mate … the food here ■■■■■, especially the chocolate, but at least you have the advantage of all the English chocky north of the border that we can’t get down here.

I think most airlines allow 2 carry on’s so make them as big as you can.
I once flew from Albany to Atlanta and the ticket was half the cost if I flew Albany to Charleston via Atlanta so I bought that ticket and packed everything in 2 carry on’s and when the plane stopped in Atlanta I got off and walked … saved about $300.
