Had a whisper on a moffett job paying a small fortune. Can anyone recommend moffett training in Essex, and a rough cost please?
Cheers

I thought you where there forever mate
Are you an experienced operator or a total newbie? Do you need an accredited certificate like RTITB? Or would you just need a certificate saying MOFFETT MAN? Also are you sure its moffett you need and not Manitou?

Nothing wrong with the job mate, but when you get a sniff of up to an extra £250 a week…

I know how to drive a fork lift but I’ve never had a licence. I have no clue what licence you get to drive a rear mounted fork lift, so all advice welcome
DFTL licenses tend to be model specific. So knowing what brand is important, Moffett, Manitou, or palfinger, would be easy enough to find out what the prospective employers use.
An accredited course will cost more than a Moffett Man jobbie, and an experienced operator will likely only takes day, and be quite cheap, and if you are a total newb it would likely be 3-5 days
And a LOT of cash…
I found one for £285. 3-5 days

Yes mate I got that bit
Its the fact it costs the same if you are a star and only take 3 days or a dunce and need 5 that I don’t get…
My fork lift licence says “lorry mounted lift truck reach”, no make specified, valid for all makes.
It might be a starting price, I’m not sure. I’m gonna keep digging. I might see if the firm will put me through it. They use ADR drivers too so I’m already employable. They asked my mate if he wanted to go through his ticket but he refused. He’s 61 and just wants a quiet life. The moffett work involves a lot of London site work. Specialist products though, not your normal bricks etc

Ok, “tend to”, was the wrong phrase, “can be model specific”. As they different beasts, and work under different principles.

6 of us did it in a morning.
Drive around a few cones, put it on the lorry…take it off again.
Done.
