I am looking for the right material to prepare my Mod 2 on my own. All I am able to find is books telling me HOW to prepare them but I don’t actually find proper Mock Tests or Hazard Perception on-line. Those from DVSA are limited and repetitive and them from apps are just as bad.
Where can I buy them from? Do I need a driving school for that?
I found both the app for my phone and http://www.drivingtheory4all.co.uk both very good. Both had all the relevant sections with mock tests and hazard perception clips.
Basically in the same position as you - getting medical + paperwork done and wanting to get a head start on learning the theory/HP.
As far as I have found, any material online for ‘free’ is limited in scope in some shape or form - but you can get a good idea of what to expect after looking at as much as it as you can find.
The 2 alternatives are:
wait until you sign-up with a training school and they will have everything you need
I got the first one - but obviously look around for the best price!
I include the 2nd link as it is from the official ‘DVSA’ shop.
From what I have seen these are definitely the most common teaching aids people go with.

PS Do be aware that the Hazard Perception test has just changed to full CGI earlier this month. From what I can make out it has actually made things ‘easier’ as the clips are clearer and the hazard is more ‘obvious’ - but I mention it as it looks slightly different.
No problem.
Currently at that same stage - so looking up training schools and what they offer etc.
Discounting any early on that have deal-breakers (like 1-2 training rather than 1-1 and any that use wag-a-drags for C+E rather than a regular artic).
I’m in a bit of trickier one here as I am kind of between north-east and north-west so there’s going to be travel to a trainer no matter what
If you’re anywhere near that central band, say Leeds to Sheffield you will be spoilt for choice.
The way to move on then is to wait for your provisional to come back - then go do an assessment drive and have a look round the facility by which time the guys will be able to tell you what they believe you need training-wise.
Once costs and time-frames are in then it’s pretty much decision time.

Hazard perception clips get a modern makeover - GOV.UK
Did mine two weeks ago and they were still using the old videos. I have tried the CGI clips though and they are a bit easier as they have all clearly been staged ( which is obvious really )
