Ah good old Trucknet, as daft as it ever was. Where showing concern and empathy for 39 men women and children who died trapped in the dark suffocating to death in the most horrific of circumstances makes you a ‘snowflake’ but showing concern and somehow empathising with a V8 Scania makes you a-ok and one of the tough men. You really couldn’t make it up. Cant say I’ve ever had such deep feelings for vehicles I’ve driven or even owned let alone random ones in the news. You lads might want to talk to someone about that, seems a bit weird.

You’ve spent too long arguing the toss with Carryfast Luke, you appear to have picked up one of his traits, whereby you refuse to accept a contrary and opposing opinion and further explanation to a point you make, but instead keep coming back with the same points and opinions that have already been explained, clarified and refuted.
I do (as said) sympathise and empathise with the victims, despite the fact they went in there voluntarily knowing full well they were acting illegally and dealing with low life capable of anything…as was proven, but nevertheless less suffered horribly, I get that.
I have no ‘empathy’ with the truck
(that description is similar to my ‘‘punishing’’ a truck point that you yourself ridiculed btw) neither do I give a [zb] if it is some bad taste over the top blinged up Scania V8, if it had been my own Actros which I hate, I would still think it plainly futile, needless and ridiculous to scrap a piece of machinery in perfect working order for some misguided sentimental conscience reasons, even if you do perceive those reasons to be pertaining to some kind of ‘respect’ …that I do not.
As I said difference of opinion nothing more.
I ain’t trying to be …quote; “One of the tough guys” either, on the other hand neither do I think you are a ''snowfkake ‘’ for having a differing opinion to myself.
If you feel the need to reply to this, please do not go all Carryfast again not taking my points and clarification on board, and repeating your same points.
Cheers.
You dont associate that vehicle with the deaths of those people, so that doesn
t affect you. OK.
Others do associate that vehicle with the deaths of those people, so that does affect them.
So, do we allow the vehicle to take to the roads again, thus upsetting people, or destroy it?
It`s not a very expensive bit of kit is it? Ten grand? Twenty?
Some upset people vs next to nothing.
Got to say it mate at the risk of continuing to sound like one of Luke’s ‘Tough guys’’ …maybe these delicate easily upset types should snap out of it, get over themselves and move on eh?
Just saying.
(
Or have I just fell into your trap.Franglais?

What is happening to the house where the father and daughter lived in Salisbury and the poisoning affair?

So the whole world should conform to your standards?
Coming from such a delicate snowflake as you, who is so upset by some footie players kneeling for ten seconds before a match, I do find your comments…peculiar.
I would buy the house but Putin would know where I live and pay another visit with his henchmen, but mentioning Russia will start off Sir Geoffrey Carryfaster .

And on and on and on he goes. None of our opinions matter one jot, we’re a load of morons arguing on a dying forum. Get over my opinion of you, it’s not important. And just for reference it’s not something ‘I’ve picked up from Carryfast’ (such a lazy thing to say, thought you were better than that, well, before this thread) the things I’ve expressed no this thread are my basic levels of decency and empathy for others, traits I’m very happy I got from my mother.
‘‘On and on he goes’’ he says, only to stifle the discussion which ain’t going his way.
And from the man who has took up pages and pages of the forum hanging on like a terrier, going ‘on and on’, having the same argument with Carryfast over numerous threads.
And as I keep telling you, you are fully entitled to your opinion of me,
Aye ok Luke,.we’ll leave it there eh mate?..So absolutely nothing for me to ‘get over’.as you put it.

Years ago i worked on the buses. We had a driver hang himself in the depot on one of the buses. The bus was scrapped straight away .Personally i think it should be scrapped…
What if he’d done it in the depot…demolish the bus station?
Sorry but I really do not get this train of thought at all.
To take things to another level along the same lines…maybe they should flatten Auschwitz, out of respect then eh? …the ultimate horrors took place there.
And on and on and on he goes, where he stops nobody knows!

See previous post.
You’re not as fun as debating Carryfast. Even in recent months when he seems to be slipping he is at least fun to spar with. So I’ll stop as I don’t like to mock the afflicted
Ok one more………

Wow! In the 14 or so years I’ve been on here I’ve been called a whole array of names, but being called a ‘Snowflake’ is a definite first.
(Ok I know you’re only joking, and as usual trying to press my TN buttons btw
)
Of course I don’t think people should conform to my standards…(arrogantly thinks to himself ‘‘But if they did the world may be a better place’’
) but it does not stop me from reacting to other’s standards and ideas with amazement and wonderment.
You should probably concentrate more
Have a lovely day all. A bit of sun here in Wales so all is well.
Ok I opened the living room window because of the sun. A definite mistake. Keep your windows closed Trucknetters.
Must be about time to get out the begging bowl again? “I’m incapable of keeping vehicles on tarmac without driving them off road into ditches and trees, please send me all your monies! I promise to make a new youtube video if you do!”

I could be wrong here. But as I really can’t be arsed to read through all the waffle here that has been posted.
I can’t actually remember anyone mentioning the fact it was V8 Scania, just that people think it is daft to crush a vehicle that was used for a crime. Trailer as I said and others have probably made clear should be crushed but probably is back on the road.
Should any trailers that may have been used as make shift mortuaries during the covid pandemic be crushed and have they been?
Again I could be wrong but the only person who commented on it being V8 Scania was like himself without going over pages of waffle to check.
Luke you seem to be on a one man crusade over this and refuse to accept others are entitled to their own opinion. That’s how it come across anyway.
Also most of us are quite able to show empathy for those that died and their families, but also recognise the fact they were trying to enter the country illegally and due to that fact unfortunately have to shoulder a small portion of blame for what happened to them. Probably 99% of people who emigrate do so legally and through the correct channels.
I wonder how many people have unwittingly bought a vehicle that someone had previously died in, sadly it does happen where they get returned to the road. But if you didn’t know its history you wouldn’t be any the wiser.

The one where the woman died was demolished. The other one is being rebuilt.

At the risk of taking this off topic (perish the thought!) were any of these trailers actually used as makeshift morgues? I mean I saw the widely reported pictures of them, much as I saw the widely reported pictures of Chinese citizens simply falling down dead in the street, but I never witnessed it however. Doesn’t mean to say it didn’t happen of course, simply asking.
