evening all does any one no anything about mike beer transport usual stuff money ect thanks in advance
I’ve never worked for them but they are local to me. Word on the Street is that they run legally but want their pound of flesh, pay is average for the area, i.e. crap. They are doing quite a bit to Spain at the mo as well as the usual Benelux bulk tipper stuff. I think they have a fairly high turnover of drivers, and that normally tells its own story.

Perhaps if we had a government in the future that didn’t consider itself “business friendly” we might actually get somewhere with employers…
We should be the assets of our employers - not some “payroll liability” which is how we’re treated alas.

it wouldent be enough for me i mm afraid
It isn’t enough for most of the drivers pay rise promised April and has not happened, hence why they have lost 6 driver in month with everyone else looking.

£430 minus say,£92 for nights out(4x23)=£338 divided by 5 =£67.60 a day!,factoring in minimum wage I assume you only do 10 hour days

That’s net though so its 67 a day after tax and ni, so prob 90 ish a day gross. Still so low money though, surprising. I was on 80 a day in 2003 and that was considered low.

One firm i will not mention pays £69 per day.Work that out for a 15 hour day.Clue;Chips;If you like them, eat some more.

That’s not unusual for that part of kent . C s bull and a few others all seem to be at the 430 mark inc nites out.
They all pay similar around ramsgate ,Canterbury, Dover , it’s to stop drivers leaving , at one time mike beer and salvatori wouldn’t poach each other’s drivers , if I had to get back behind the wheel then I would be looking at firms that are further out .

I think i know who you mean Tobes begins with B ? Chatting to one of their drivers the other day he seemed happy with them and explained what happened to Mr Chips.
Was Mortimers now Broughton ltd.But their drivers stay a long time and do not leave.
