There was a child in a suit collared me in main depot for a ā¦āGate Checkā , (whatever tf that means) turns out it was basically another walk around check. ā¦
He got a bit flustered when I told him to crack on himself as I was sat having my coffee, (instead of me following him 2 paces behind, around the truck like his dog.)
When he had walked around (with his clipboard, 
) he told me I should be using the app.
I just said ānowt to do with me mate, give our depot a bell and tell them, are we done hereā ā¦
It was his initial officious self important attitude that pi55ed me, otherwise I would have been more co.operative
I bet he is on more money than me btw.
My usual response would be to say that if they want me to use the app, they should provide me with the device to use it on.
The last mob who wanted me to use their preferred app was the shop fitting bunch that I did some day work for recently and they were so disorganised that it was embarrassing.
That job didnāt last very long, with atrocious planning. ie: 4 drops on a T/L, the first one at 6am, but I didnāt start until 7am. So they refused the first delivery.
Took it all back to the yard (Barnsley) because it wasnāt loaded in the correct order. Back at the yard spent 2-3hrs waiting for a forklift, then back out on the road at 4pm with 1 drop Sainsburyās Harrogate, tipped Harrogate 17:45, back to yard and finished 19:45. Then got a WhatsApp message saying to start the next morning at 4am, so I mgsd back saying that it was not legally possible to do 4am. Iām now back to driving the sofa
