Mexican food ?

It’s no wonder most Mexicans are little guys, they don’t get enough to eat. I have yet to see any Mexican food that doesn’t look like somebody threw up on your plate or that falls apart when you try to eat it. Wraps for instance ? What do they see in trying to eat some rubbish wrapped in an edible dish cloth or Tacho’s that fall apart and spill the contents everywhere but into your mouth ? Do they not have knives and forks south of the border ? Every time someone hands me a wrap I get a knife and fork and eat whatever I can that doesn’t run away from me … we all go hungry
Our works canteen is a great place … for breakfast anyway, but go for dinner and everyday it’s chicken of some sort with rice of some sort and there can be 5 variations of chicken on one day, with brown rice, white rice, boiled rice, fried rice. Breakfasts are good if you like eggs and bacon, every second day they do home fries (of a sort) they are nice potato’s coloured in some yellow subatance and are a tad spicey but nice. I do have one advantage in that the women who run it know me and my eggs and bacon are on the griddle as soon as the see me walk in, if it’s a ‘Home fries’ morning I am automaticaly handed a dish containing bacon, sausage and home fries without me having a chance to ask for something else

I posted this in the UK forum by mistake :sunglasses:

I love Mexican food…I live on the stuff…I’m not that little either

I arrived on Sunday evening in Avondale, PA with a load of peat moss for a mushroom company. These places in that area are always staffed by Mexicans and this place turned out to be no exception. Come Monday morning the usual case of trying to find a Mexican who actually wanted to be at work, to actually unload my truck reared its head and in doing so one of these said Mexicans gestured for me to join him for some Mexican breakfast and pointed over to some wraps which looked fairly standard and to a box of the most horrendous looking mushed up crap with leaves in it that I’d ever seen.
Knowing that any ingestion of said mess would result in me spending hours on the toilet I stalled for time which paid off when the head Mexican suddenly appeared when he thought a gringo was going to steal his food, shouting in Spanish with arms waving. The other Mexican then explained that he’d offered it to me, which seemed to calm him down and not wishing to loose his food to any more hungry roaming gringo’s he unloaded me. A complete result, I didn’t get food poisoning and I managed to get a Mexican to unload a trailer in less than 4 hours. Almost unheard of!

Its certainly more appealing to the eye!

My very first experience of the afore mentioned crap was at Tacho Bell in Newark terminal B waiting to catch a flight hom in Jan 2000, I was with some Americans who bought me a wrap, I took one bit then took it back and ignoring the long line of poor souls waiting to buy some I asked the server "How do you manage to get humans to eat this rubbish ? It’s like biting a dish cloth. I never went to any Tacho Bell ever again.

Taco Bell and Del Taco isn’t Mexican food, its Chicano food, eat Mexican food down here at a Mom and Pop restaurant, you wouldn’t be disappointed.
