Metro centre in gateshead

place where i work is starting a new contract on monday and it involves delivering to a toy shop in the metro centre, anyone deliver in there at all■■? i can imagine at this time of year it will be a busy place, are there differents delivery areas or is it just 1 delivery area

any advice appreciated

yes there are different areas if its your first time stop at one of the loading area gates and ask where you need to be.

Which toy shop■■?, as it could be 1 of them on the retail park opposite,

i think the toyshop is called entertainers

also delivering to the stores in wakefield and hull, not sure where they are yet

used to deliver to the pizza huts one on retail park the other inside metro centre best place to tip this was in the bus station saves pulling the pallets uphill

Googled it and it looks to be in the main malls which are accessed from the north side, or on the blind side of the A1 as you drive past

thanks oldsid, much appreciated.

aint looking forward to it, shopping centre deliveries are generally a pain in the arse in my experience :frowning:

I’ve delivered to Argos and Sainsbury i think it was at the metro they were easy to find. Clearly numbered with signs showing the right gate and bay. I don’t remember having any problems.

There’s plenty of hotties floating about having sly ciggie to keep you amused!!

Delivered plant etc there when the ‘Qube’ (said cube) was being done and so saw plenty when I was round at the back delivery entrance.

Easy enough the hardest part will be the traffic

I think they are in the old Early Learning Centre shops.
Delivered to many of them in the past, which usually involved pulling the pallets(with a pallet truck  ) along a loading bay, into a goods lift then another long drag that always seemed like the furthest point from said lift!!
The older shops that didnt have a goods entrance, had their deliveries through the front door which meant driving down pedestrian precincts before 07:00 or after 17:00- used to moan about the job at the time but never spent any money on the kids xmas or birthday pressies for a few years

Be careful though as the delivery access could be in a totally different street/road.

Thanks suede head, I think I am gonna try and stay of the delivering side of this job and just try and trunk the stuff up to our place from Swindon, I don’t fancy dragging 26 pallets up in a lift 1 at a time, would take ages

Cant recall any single shop having 26 pallets at any one time mate Maybe 20 in the run up to Xmas  .
Is it out of Lutterworth nowadays ?

No mate, will be collecting from Swindon, i am doin 1st collection tomorrow when I am done at new B&Q RDC in Stratton st Margaret, it’s supposed to be just around the corner from there.

Even 20 pallets is still gonna take an hour or 2.
