What they carry doesn’t relate with the word ‘Farms’, how come?

On their website its a farming company, ploughing, sillage etc .but has a heavy haulage side to it.;see loads on the a1 so they must have a lot of tackle

Is it a old website
i thought the same as pimpdaddy so i googled um
Big dairy farm Nr. Leyburn … then moved into agricultural contracting … then got into low loader work, moving farm machinery.
Don’t know if they are still involved … few years ago they bought massive farm in Russia … 1’000’s of acres - ex Russian Collective.
Moved into heavy haulage … got contract to do Komatsu excavators … then got into doing “army” work. They bought-out low loader Co. from South Coast ( forgot the name ) who also did “Army” contract.
I maybe shouldn’t say, as it is only a rumour … may have lost the “army” work
Saw an advert recently (last couple of weeks) but can’t recall where. They were after drivers. Got to be worth a call.
Think there is 2 metcalfe farms 1 from leyburn and 1 from askrigg , it’s the 1 from leyburn with the blue motors who do all that stuff , 1 from askrigg have red motors and some diff colours I think , not sure about wages etc
Are they not part of DSV. Sure I have seen this on the back of the cab?
Wouldn’t it be easier to just phone them up, rather than asking on here… just a thought

Because sometimes it’s better to find out things from other people that may work there etc than hearing standard company talk…just a thought
As far as DSV go, I think just do some UK work for their global shipping. They have other yards, one Southampton way and so trucks up towards A303/M3 split. Big farming family which got into haulage later. I was nattering to a chap on Facebook who worked for them, loved the work but wasn’t over positive on the pay packet. At the time, there were jobs available Insouthampton but it must have been back in the spring.

Ah… Not interested any more then
Thank you for the on put drives great help I only put it on here to make sure it was worth given them a ring
They still do the army work. I saw a large convoy of about 10 of their trucks and a few from another company coming out of Gretna services s/b on the M6 a few week ago.
Metcalf’s (red motors) used to or still have a yard on the Gatherley estate at Catterick.
