mercedes actros

Yup biggest pile of crap to drive they are horrid. Sod the camera ■■■■■■■■ and give me a better truck simple as that.

The mercs I drove had a 12v socket on the passenger side round the corner of the centre console by the floor. Have you checked there.

I did look even after the merc man said the 12v charging sockets are no more [emoji1787] Dunno which [emoji931][emoji773] made this decision but you can guarantee they don’t drive a truck for a living.

Well they were before this new gen all digital dash and stupid cameras and screens but still ■■■■ to drive. If I never drive Merc truck again it will be too soon.

It’s a strange one

I find it quite erratic

Either way to slow on some roundabouts or goes whizzing off others at high speed!

Likes to slow down for no apparent reason. It’s ok but it’s by no means perfect. I’d opt to drive the lorry rather than let the lorry drive its self on an assessment

It (presumably) thinks there’s enough of a gradient to regain the lost speed. I don’t think it does a good enough job of taking the vehicle weight into consideration. You can reduce it by changing the Lower Speed Tolerance setting (3). It’s like the old PPC -Xmph setting.

Manual page

I have yet to figure out what number 5 does. Coast to route event baffles me. I do tend to just go into settings and disable PPC though.

tbh once autonomous like tesla hits the lorry it will be a game changer, adaptive cruise control obvious you the driver need to be in full control and have to be ready to take over but on those long motorway journey I don’t know if its cause im getting older i lack concentration viva autonomous

(I think) that it means how early it starts slowing you down before an “event” (corner, junction, etc.). So for example if you set it to 5/5, it might cut power and coast 500m before a roundabout; if you set it to 1/5 it might do it at 100m instead. I presume the distance is different for different relative speeds (50mph road, 15mph event vs. 30mph road, 20mph event) but who knows.

I was in a 5 year old rental stralis,yesterday.
What an absolute pleasure,it was…compared to our all merc fleet.

Update.
Now I’ve had it a few months, it’s by far the worst auto I’ve driven by some margin! It is lethargic and made much worse when mated to a weedy engine! In comparison to similar modestly powered motors the Merc is left at the alter! Mercedes trucks, supposedly the pioneers of truck transmissions with their EPS models which I remember from the late 80’s, to this lousy incarnation!
