october last year when i was 47 i had to renew the photo on my licence. the licence came back and my photo and hgv entitlement expiry date expires when im 52. i phoned and emailed dvla several times saying they had got my hgv entitlement wrong as it should expire when im 50. they said no. because ive renewed my photo that also extends my hgv so it is correct and i wont need a medical until my licence expires. as i was born in may so that means i will be 52 and 5 months when i need a medical according to dvla. surely that is incorrect.
No it is correct, many posts on here about it and same thing happened to me. My medical was due next month when I will be 55, but I renewed my photo last year and not due now until 2019, I’ll be over 59 before it’s due.
