Should there be a meal voucher option? My company runs the truck park in Dover Port. We are opening new facilities in the New Year and this will include a restaurant and take-away. My question : do we really need a price option with a meal voucher? To my mind the meal voucher is to make sure you buy our food - but I want you to have the option. If our food is good enough you’ll buy it (and like it!). So, would it not be better for me to simply have a parking rate and separately have good food at a good price (within subsistence tax rule limits?)
if theirs no food voucher then i don’t park there unless im very late of the boat. the one at Whitfield gives you £5.00 in the week and double at weekends .
and maybe learn the ignorant backsides in the office to be a bit more polite when taking money of customers
Our firm deduct the meal voucher if you can pay for parking without the meal voucher! Perhaps you can compete with the onboard facilities for a varied decent meal for a decent price. Opening a new truck facility in Dover Port sounds interesting as many a time outward or inward I run out of spreadover due to traffic/port/weather delays which are difficult to judge before arrival at Dover so usually say if I have less than 4 hours speadover available I park short of Dover or Calais Terminals.

it’s already open in the customs park £20 and no voucher .
What happened to the butty van??
The prices werent too bad and it was decent food all cooked fresh in front of you.
Would have been great if it was open 24hrs.
The butty van? Also known as the ‘cheeky girls’. Had to pack up - not enough people bought the food. However, they’ll be back when the canteen/restaurant is open early next year.
For info, the commercial parking tariff is not set yet -shareholders will not allow us to fully open until facilities are good enough.
Parking is available today but without full truckstop facilities. Currently we use the same tariff for Customs and non Customs vehicles, ie first 5 hours FREE.
The site and business has not been set correctly in the past and seemed to do everything in its power to turn business away. Interesting (but exciting) times for us…

Customs Park at Dover Western Docks one assumes. For the £20 what is available in the way of showers, toilets etc…compared to Stop 24 at junction 11 on M20 which seems to be very popular.
Currently just on site toilets. Food and showers available at pub attached to site but not ours. Once fully opened, will obviously have all the facilities you would expect, including launderette and perhaps even a small gym (for those health conscious 48hr parkers).
Not sure where the £20 has come from. It’s 5 hours free then £2.50 per hour. So an 11 costs £15 - most stay 9 as the ferry is often used as part of the break.

You CANNOT use dover-calais/dunkirk as part of your break-there are no beds.
