Guys, my truck’s away to be fixed and I’m out with another driver today. I have to stick my card in slot 2. How do I do manual entries? Is it the same as slot 1? Do I need to put my card in first?
Cheers.
P.S. I need to know in a hurry!

You do manual entries the same as if your card was in slot 1, when you insert the card you’ll be prompted to do a manual entry to which you can choose yes or no just like slot 1.
It doesn’t matter which card goes in first if that’s what you mean.
I thought card 2 had to be inserted first.

I’m not aware of any reason to insert the card in slot 2 first, I’ve just tried it on the simulator and there was no problem whichever order the cards were inserted, also the Siemens instruction manual shows the card going into slot 1 first.
There’s certainly no legal reason I’m aware of why one card should be inserted before the other.

I didn’t know of anything legally but remember hearing once that if a card is in slot 1 it won’t let you insert into No.2
I’ve never had to do it so that was just ‘one of them tales’ I’m guessing.

I’ve never tried it either but it wouldn’t make much sense if you had to take the card out of slot 1 in order to insert a card in slot 2, a second driver doesn’t always join driver 1 at the start of the shift.

or a third or fourth driver as mentioned under multimanning rules
You can insert cards in either slot at the start of the shift …
I did the 2nd man card last week first then mine into slot1 .
you can also do slot 1 first as when 2nd or MM a vehicle the 2nd persons card may not be inserted for up to an hour after the 1st persons card .
Manual entries to be made in the usual manner and change the modes as per normal
