MAN TGX 440.

switchlogic:
Oh and the fact that box is so slow to react if on a hill you can roll back about 20ft before anything actually happens and truck finally starts gong forward.

My TGS 18.440 does this but a mates 26.540 does not, is there any reason for this? any way to fix/adjust it?

Try driving it in manual only, once you get the ratios and change points off pat it will be like driving another vehicle entirely, also if you make it work in the lower half of the rev band, ie 900 to 1400 only, it will give you more power in that low band.

Underrated vehicle imho, better again with the 480/500 lump, better again still with Traxon.

Must admit, i did love my MAN TGX…had to have the water problem fixed at exorbitant prices…and it smoked like an old steam train afterwards i couldn’t see the end of my trailer…so it went back to MAN`s…they said it was the exhaust…only wanted £8000 for a new one…it stayed there and i left the firm…
