Maltese HGV

Hello to all,
I`m a brit living and working in Malta, At the moment i am taking my class 2 over here, i have been reading stories on the forum regarding costs etc, over here is way cheeper payed 150 euros for my class 2 and 35 euros for my theory test, i was very worred about my test but only 35 questions. childs play,
and here you just take that the once for both class 2 and class 1. As malta relays on importation as its a ROCK. Drivers are sort after and in demand. as a beginner myself i can understand what up and coming drivers have to face but as malta is a member of the eu new drivers can take there test here and its valid all over europe.
For people who have been to Malta know driving a car here is a death wish let alone a Truck.

i have!
flights look to be about £270 on expedia.co.uk. thats tempting, go for 2 weeks and make a holiday out of it as well.

Its a nice idea Holiday in the sun, sea , beer and do your HGV all at the same time, But 1 big draw back , Driving here you need eyes in the back of your head as the maltese drive in the shade lol.

I’ll also bet you have to be a resident there for so long as well before being allowed to take their LGV test

Hello
I was out in Malta in the '60s. for 18months, and the driving sounds as though it hasn’t changed, as the Brit in Malta said, you need to have yours eyes everywhere :unamused:  lol

Hi Guys
Well today has been iteresting i set off with my maltese driving instructor whos grasp on english is not great I am ok left to my own devicese i can drive a truck like a toy, But and yes theres a BIG BUT i have to drive as the eu states for beginners but over here where no body idicates every one cuts you up cars as well as trucks pull out of a side road without looking . thats the down side . any european can take there test here but if you can drive here you can drive anywhere.
I Have a long hard road ahead, but im a brit i will prevail.

As Malta’s in the EU would a current UK class 2 holder have to do a Maltese test?

All EU licences are valid in all EU countries

USA - pass in one state and it’s valid for all states - that’s what I have been informed of in the past…
