Malaga ?

I’ve been driving in Europe on and off for 22 years and have just started doing Spain again after 20 years since last going there. Just completing my 1st trip then I’m reloading tomorrow for Malaga.
I’m leaving Manchester area on Sunday and expect to run a couple of hours down the road after the 10pm driving ban ends. I’m OK for knowing where I can get to stop on the way down using the nationals as far the Spanish border but after that I haven’t a clue. I’m hoping to be at Casters on Monday night, so any info on route, travel times, and safe parking the rest of the way would be appreciated. I expect to be in Malaga Wednesday morning and tip but not sure yet of reload so if like last week I had to wait 24hrs to reload , is there anywhere decent in Malaga I can park that I may be able to see the place and maybe a day on the beach ?
Cheers Paul

We used to deliver just behind the airport, was a good spot to park, but its now got a fair few ladies of the night down there I believe, i have not driven in near two yrs mind , and its a cab ride to the beach.
But on the plus side there was an English guy who cleaned tanks out and washed trucks, and he would keep an eye on yours. I will look to see if I can still find any info.

If you leave Castets in the morning you will get south of Madrid in a shift. Plenty of good places to stop down there, just look for where spanish trucks are parked. Good spot to park up in Malaga is just behind IKEA. If you follow the airport signs you can’t really miss it. The restaurant is good and cheap in there. Just over the road is a big shopping area called Plaza Mayor which is good or you can jump on the local train into central Malaga or the beach is just a mile or so down the road. Need your shorts, hot down there at the moment.

As Ex -Haulier says plenty of parking behind Ikea ,if you speak Polish you will be fine mostly Fimcamp and Willie Betz parked there , there is also a Mc Donalds on the same complex, if you go further West you will reach Velez Malaga with good parking behind El Ingresso supermarket complex ,but there again you will need to speak good Polish as Nolans stay over there after delivering to Dunns Stores.

Edit to add : if you go to Plaza Mayor ,drive right through ,up to the new Brico Marche and turn right ,over the bridge over the main road and the beach is right in front of you.

Kerbut, you need to go east for Velez Malaga. West would take you to Dunnes store at Fuengirola and then on to Marbella.

You are quite right Ex Haulier ,must buy a compass !!

Paul, which port are you using, Boulogne sur Mer, Le Havre, Cherbourg, Caen Ousitreham or Calais.Or St Malo?
There is lots of parking anywhere along the coast of Malaga. For a swim or coffee stop, look for old wasteground or a dusty lay by.
Sunbilla used to have a good driver restaurant called Kontixa, now only a fuel stop, but an expensive restaurant is on the north bound side towards the border at Irun.
The fuel garage would give a cash bonus on how much you spent on diesel.Trout with ham, lentil soup, bacon butties was what they used to serve.
Will you go on the national one via Victoria, Burgos then to Madrid over Somosierra mountain or via Pamplona.?
The hotels are cheap if you want air con in the room to get out of the cab.
Victors at Burgos is where a lot of Brits used to stop at.

Toby.
Now the truck stop at Sunbilla is no longer there, the Bag house must have gone as well.■■?
