i drive m6 every day northants to carnforth and back, Its now so bad there should be a 40 limit or someone will be killed. Ive now seen so many near misses with trucks struggling to stay in lanes its only a matter of time.
you not drove in italy or spain then
Think we managed 7km without touching the steering wheel on one road in France, just sat it in the ruts and let it go.
the M6 is a bit unique cos it has 2 sets of ruts - one made by cars and the other made by trucks.
one point though do you want the sort of delays that were caused when they upgraded thelwall ■■? the M6 has always been bad cos the government shoved money into west coast mainline and not the motorways around here
Some sections of the A14 are getting quite bad too, just beyond bury st Edmunds Cambridge bound is particularly bad.
Oh, nothing to do with Deer after all
M6 is better than it used to be, you could go near all the way from here, Manchester to Birmingham without steering The M57 is worse imho, the road surface is breaking up and some real holes are starting to appear.

Must be all the stag parties.
The worst ‘tramlines’ I remember were on the Namur-Brusssles motorway back in the late 80’s, desperate!!
Ross.
It certainly keeps you awake when you hit them!
I was out in the van the other day going from Warrington to Stoke. Its been a while since I went down that way but I remember thinking “Jesus!” As I hit 'em. Can’t for the life of me remember where exactly I was.
Personally I reckon anybody stupid enough to be rutting on a motorway deserves to be hit. Serve em right for rubbing our noses in it!!
When being rocked around dropping into tramlines or fighting to climb out and then veering suddenly out I always wonder how a newbie would go on, first day out with a loaded truck.

Namur road is still bad.
This combined with the head sized pot holes down the 43 around Silverstone only goes to show where the money is not going these days…cars and trucks swerving around pot holes randomly is just asking for trouble when it is busy or the conditions are adverse.
I have never seen the roads country wide in such a state for such a long time.
it’s what happens when the government is hell bent on creating a new trainline for the ridiculous pricetag of £33BILLION pounds.
most of the roads that i’ve used need re surfacing and it should have started a long long time ago imho
I was over rannoch moor yesterday. Plenty of reds, but don’t think its rutting time yet. I felt safe enough.
and what about that “SPEED BUMP” on the M58 just past junction 5 eastbound at skem ■■
how long has that been there ■■
Worst EVER I have come across was the so called motorway near Poznan, 28km where you could forget about the steering wheel, make some tea and a fry up, or do a crossword, even set the c/c and stretch yer legs over in the passenger seat. To be fair though the A14 when new wasn’t called Rutland Rd for nothing.
