M5 Gantry demolisher

1 year ban
2 year community order and must complete 120 hours of unpaid work.

TBH id say he’s gotten off lightly with just a single year ban to be fair.

Does he have to make restitution?

No one was killed or injured, he’s got his punishment, move on.

Move on? It’s lucky no one was seriously hurt or Injured.

You would have to be blind or a complete moron to do what he did.

Personally I don’t think a years ban on enough on driving trucks for such a stupid and careless act, we can’t even calm it a mistake as he did not check his mirrors once, is that someone you really want driving around in a truck again?

And he’s received his punishment. Motorists get not much more punishment for causing physical injuries to others.

Could have, would have, should have, fact is the impact was metal on metal. Hopefully he won’t do it again…move on.

I’m really not sure how you can be defending such actions, it’s people like him that give us all a bad name.

This will be a ban for a year from driving motor vehicles. The TC could very well take his vocational licence away for longer.

So no defending of this numpty here. In a previous post on this individual I stated he should be banned and heavily fined.

He got the ban and a community order and unpaid work. If he gets the job of picking up dog turds or cleaning public toilets hour after hour…good. No deaths no injuries. Move on.

You have your opinion and that’s fine however telling people to move on is not your place, if people wish to discuss that is up them, if you don’t wish to then why even bother commenting?

So simcor, you are telling me what I can and cannot post? Your opinion he got off lightly, my opinion he should have been heavily fined along with a ban. I replied to your initial opener, if you don’t like what I say, tough. Move on.

Yep a taste of your medicine, your posts would be fine if you stopped adding move on to every post. There really is little need to add move on constantly.

A taste of my own medicine? Move on is MY opinion. The driver has done what he has done, the courts have punished him, no one injured or killed.

So just to clarify, imo time to move on.

So a twelve month ban. Would he have been banned as soon as the incident happened?
If so the ban would surely be over now as the incident was well over a year ago now.

Not long but but look at it this way he may well struggle to find another job driving that’s decent.
Plus guessing his car insurance might go up now.but due to nature of what happened ie he didn’t have a crash as such will it not count as an accident?

The ban would have started when he appeared in court last Friday for sentencing.

Errrr, that’s definitely a crash.

I would imagine, with one of the most memorable HGV incidents in recent years, he will be wise to consider a career NOT involving driving in the future.

not having done tippers for years and years and the fact we are all saftey conscious do tippers not have a tipper bed up alarm…?

dyou reckon the truck got repaired? same body?
i was once in a scrapyard and a bent truck chassis was being carried in,apparently at full tilt a pin at top of ram had snapped and body had slammed down onto the chassis
