Only the rigid at the weekend went through down there.
It would be nice to have the concrete like on many European motorways I agree, but seeing as we can’t even afford to turn on all the streetlamps on many sections of motorway, that will never happen.

The old A38 pre motorway in the area was a death trap with the centre lane for overtaking in both directions ( what muppet thought of that ) but the M5 is doing its best to rival it.
When the A38 was first designed and build, there was so much less traffic. Lorries had a maximum speed only just in double figures, and the few cars and lorries about managed to co-exist much better than today.
