M40 Brackley junction

I see the stupid M40 Brackley (A43) junction has been changed (in record time by the look of it) back to more or less what it used to be. Much better to have a downhill joining sliproad. Shame they changed the A34/M40 junction so that you now have to stop at lights to join M40 North

I really don’t understand why they removed the free flow lane from the A34 onto the M40. The improvements there have been another waste of money.

I rarely go down that road but I went down it recently during the rush hour and joined the queue for the M40 at the 6 mile sign.

It was like that a couple of Saturdays ago, I was going to go up the A34 from Cowley to Bicester but saw the queue as I went over the top so went back to Cowley and to the other M40 junction. Not sure if I beat the queue, but at least kept rolling.

I must be lucky as I’m never held up on the A34/M40 junction since the improvements, in fairness there’s been a lot of accidents, breakdowns etc up there recently. Army lorries seem to like breaking down up there, then made worse when every other army truck in the convoy seems to have to stop and look busy.

Came down the 43 last week, and took lane 2 for the right at the roundabout onto the M40. Did I look a right pratt at the “roundabout”.
Came down again today and was queuing for ages. Did somebody have a degree to redesign this or was it on the back of a ■■■ packet, in the pub on Sat night?

Its a horrible junction that doesn’t run to any rule book I’ve seen.

the person who redesigned it needs too get ten million lashes for being a moron that thought they would improve it

An ex colleague used to be a local parish councillor and told me that the guy who designed the M40/A43 junction prior to it’s new state, also designed the rebuilt A361 out of Banbury towards Chacombe. Such a ■■■■ up he made, the road was rebuilt too narrow for two lorries to pass (discovered when it was being tarmacced). This meant it had to be ripped up and rebuilt again, having never carried a vehicle.
Oxofordshires’ planners and their panels of “experts” are very adept at creating highway ■■■■ ups. The A34 Milton Interchange is apparently many weeks behind schedule because someone was told to pile through new concrete bridge decks, on an experts’ orders.
