Lottery etc.

When I lived in the UK I did the lottery every time, I entered as many free competitions as I could, I was almost joined to the fruit machine at the local club. I won my fair share of stuff, countless jackpots on machines, one in particular in the Towcester con club woud pay out every Sunday as soon as possible after 8.45 pm and I had figured that out with nobody else realising it “How do you do it ?” was the question at the bar every week
On Tesco’s most canteens had machines and the one in Staines in particular got me in bad books there, by winning 200 quid one day much to the annoyance of the staff then going back 2 days later and winning 150 quid on the other one
Here in the USA it’s a different story, I do not gamble and can’t understand why I see guys at a bar playing machines where there is no cash to win ? The only place to win money is a casino. Whatever big prize you win you have to pay tax on, unlike the UK. If you win anything, car, boat, washing machine, even holiday you have to pay a percentage of the value a tax, therefore in any compentition you have to be punished for winning, this particularly annoys me with the lottery which will say your prize will be $250 million for instance when the actual prize will be about $100 million. … I do not do the lottery, they already got my initial money paid just as in Europe, then when you win they want well over 50% of your winnings. The lottery here is also so fixed I can’t see how the public do not just stop paying ? It was proved in lots of experiments in Europe that teh chances of a roll over are quite rare and the chances of one person getting the number right is far greater than a roll over but the lottery here rolls over week after week untill it get’s t a riddiculous amount well over $250 million to get more people buying tickets. I don’t care how big the lottery here rolls over to I will not buy tickets for something so corrupt.
