Today through my own stupidity I lost my past 28 days Tacho charts, what should I do?
I have only been driving a 7.5 tonne for the past seven weeks and I think this is a lesson once learned, would VOSA take a sympathetic view or would they be hard on me and what would I be looking at if they throw the book at me?
Youād better keep your head down for the next four weeks because i donāt think theyāll be too chuffed with you.
Look after those charts as if theyāre Ā£20 notes.

snip
Sorry to appear un"sympathetic"
But the wording of the 1st line of your question,
gives me the impression that you have some idea when & were you ālostā thenā¦
If this is the case, go back and recover themā¦ ( no matter what there present condition is )
If your unable to recover them:
unless they were distroyed in an recorded unfortunate event, such as a Truck/Car or House Fire etc.
to which the Traffic Comisioner might take lenient stance, honestly your in deep do-do.
I see that employer has already covered there backside:
Haggis:
They have asked me to give them a note for file stating the dates covered by the missing charts.
re āwhat should I doā , well you could risk getting cault, or take 28days off
& most important, learn from this lesson,
and in the future care for these delicate (flimsy)fellows like there priceless treasures.
In 1983, I managed to leave my tacho wallet complete with 21 days of cards in a phone box in Auxerre. The wallet had a notebook attached, and I had phoned the depot for instructions regarding a part load for the UK.
Arrived in Dover and got tugged by the ānuts&boltsā and could not produce records. I got fined Ā£50 for failing to keep records.
All a mistake and not deliberateā¦honest!
keep a bag of broken glass with you ready for passenger footwell and keep that window clean not your fault if someone broke your window and stole your bag
