lost digi card

as title says I think ive lost my digi crad.

normally on a Friday I eject card hand paperwork in hand card it to be downloaded.
but he didn’t download it as was on his own to busy. and cant remember after that. hoping its in the office.

but if I have lost it how do I carry on driving?
am guessing a print out every day?
and how do I order a replacement .

sorry for the stupid question.

If you can’t find it…

You have to report it as lost to the DVLA.

Get in the lorry and go about your daily business without it. You’ll have to cancel the ‘driving without card’ message that comes up all day long but other than that, just do a print out at the end of shift.

That link is only applicable to Northern Island residents. Similar arrangements apply in the rest of the UK. Also, and important to note, you 'll need to do printouts at BOTH start and end of shift (not just at the end).

There’s a reasonable guide here: downloads.tachomaster.co.uk/doc … cedure.pdf

If driving without card you have to do 2 printouts at start of shift and 2 at end.
All breaks and rest still have to be recorded on tacho in usual manner even though you’re not using tacho or you’ll get an infringement

No- the requirement is that you do one printout at start and another at end. It’s a good idea to do two (so you can keep one and hand the other in straight away), but legally only one is necessary (which you keep with you for 28 days then hand in).

I’ve deffinatly lost it. Thanks for.the advice.
Have phoned up for a new one.
Don’t know why they cant incorporate your tacho into your cpc card or driving licence instead of having carry around 3 different cards

If you’re stopped at least you can show a valid licence.

That advice is totally WRONG!!!

What you have to do is this.

  1. If you have left it at home - go and get it. Do not drive the truck until you have got it.

  2. If you have lost it. You ring up DVLA, report it lost AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU A REFERENCE NUMBER. This covers your ar5e whilst driving without a card.

  3. If you just drive the truck you will get massively testiculated, the operator will risk a major dent on his o-licence and you are in do do if stopped. I mean massive turd territory. If you have the all important ref number. Your fine. You then will of course have to part with 20 squid or something for a replacement card. I know I have been there.
