Lost my CPC, Drivers license & taco cards all kept in one wallet, where do i stand regards driving? would i have to wait till i get them all replaced or could i drive with no photo ID I do have my paper license but would that satisfied Vosa if i was stopped.
take proof of id…passport if you have one…send all your applications recorded delivery and keep the slips with you…phone Swansea etc,get the name of whatever Herbert you speak to,plus the time of the call/number etc…do your driving records manually.( I think they used to call them logbooks)…and drive on,unless you want to lose your £500 a week or whatever you earn.take the flak if you get any from the hi viz cabbage brigade, though whos to say your going to get stopped, and then lie through your teeth that the Swansea Herbert said it was ok,you can prove the contact if you call the same number from your mobile at the same time and hang up,…that’s what I would do anyway…no doubt it wont be exactly correct for some on here, but personally id cover my bum best I could, and crack on.
Go on , admit it , you,ve just climbed out of the axle of one @ watford gap havent you ? …
Carry on regardless. crack on drive .
As dd says should help ,
carry passport if have one &
Carry paper part and copies/email receipts of your replacement applications receipts till new arrive within the week/fortnight.
No legal requirement to carry photo ID… ( unless you need it in the type of work you do)
Contact DVLA and apply for new digi card and DCPC card.
As for Digi card you can carry on driving for 15 days.
Start of duty:
Do a print out at start of duty and record your details on this print out on the back . ( do 2 print outs one for you and one for the office ).
End of duty:
Do a print out at the end of duty and again record your details on the reverse …( This print out will show the work the vehicle has done throughout this period.) again do 2 copies one for you and one for the office.
Keep your copies safe …
keep the office copies with you or you can give them to the office day by day as you have your copies with you ,
Inform the office / depot / your employer what has happened just in case they have a company protocol ie other forms to complete.
Also they may have photo copies of your licence /digi card etc that you could have a copy just to show if stopped.
remember to use the digi tacho activity buttons as normal . written start and finish entry’s on the rear of the print out…
if your talking about your work / duty there is no need as by doing a print out at the end of duty it will show what you have done during that duty … you still need to use the buttons for activity …
Just to add to what nick2008 has said, you have 7 days to notify the DVLA that your drive card is lost, you can only legally drive for 15 days without a driver card so obviously the sooner you notify them and apply for a replacement card the better.
When you do vehicle printouts at the start and end of the shift you will need to write on them any manual entries that you would usually enter into the tachograph at the start of the shift if you had a card, also write your name or licence number (if known) on the printouts so you can be identified and sign them.
well you wouldnt need to pay out for all three to be replaced would you.
by keeping all three together you have given someone all they need should they get stolen or lost.
when you go on holiday, you dont keep your passport, money, flight tickets and room key all together.
what i was suggesting, was that if we all used some common sense, should they get stolen again, you can limit the amount of trouble incurred, by not keeping them all in one place.

Who said anything about stolen
All my stuff is in my wallet. my wallet goes with me when I go to work. I don’t always take my wallet when I go out the house unless I’m shopping.
Next you’ll be saying you don’t keep your house keys with your car keys and then you keep your fuel cap key separate from your ignition key so if they steal your car they cant fill it up

Yes I do actually, easiest way to protect stuff is to keep it together. Think of battles, you’d have a bunker / stronghold, keep everything valuable together then you know where to defend.
I keep SOME spending money in a seperate, easy to access pocket if I’m going the market or whatever, but other than that, everything stays in a place I protect - common sense really
my friend had his wallet stolen, and lost all his cards much like the op.
days later a member of the public found it on the canal, and handed the wallet (minus the cash) into the police.
although he was lucky to get these cards back, it still caused him a great deal of aggro.
You are correct, i dont keep the house keys with the car keys, the rate at which my kids lose the door keys, it would cost me a fortune to get new car keys.
i learned a lesson at my mates expense, and i hope this never happens to any driver,
but by all means, feel free to keep your cards together where ever you feel they are safest.

but the OP didn’t say anything about stolen … he lost them ,
as for car keys there’s 2 people in my house . me and the boy . we both have our own cars + he cant drive mine so he wont lose my keys anyway

even though my mates were stolen, they were still lost to him.
but having had time to read your posts again i concede i was wrong.
i now think its a good idea to keep all your valuables together like you would in a battle, and on holiday.
I was stupid to suggest otherwise.
i can only apologise, and assure you that i will now conform accordingly.
Actually, in a battle situation you don’t put all your resources into one “strong” location - Not these days at any rate. It’s all about resilience and being able to take a significant hit without losing everything.
