Lorry washes

Does anyone know the best truck/trailer wash nearest to the M1 corridor between Daventry and Hatfield/Dartford capable of taking 16 foot high trailers? Directions if you have, can’t be too far off the motorway. Cheers.

i use the one in the yard ‘when’ it isn’t broken down - today the light was flashing for ‘frost guard - waitfor temp to go above freezing’.

Dead easy to use - stop the motor with the front wheels between the guides (2 strips of metal, dont go any further forward or the front/top brush will jam!), get out making sure the windows/sunroof/doors are all shut, and press the ‘standard wash’ button and away it goes!

as regards the height, I think as long as you look to make sure the trailer isn’t higher than the top of the ‘tower’ that the brushes rise up you should be ok

As said previously - don’t put a unit through solo and neglect to mention it, like somebody did at our place…

…the next one came out looking like a skunk

Yep had a bash with it yesterday (not literally!)

found it’s best to pull the mirrors ‘forward’ not back else the brushes just pull them back forwards anyway!

This one had 3 green buttons, one marked ‘car’ one blank and one marked ‘artic’ i guess the middle one should have said rigid or something, but it seemed to work.

Got a nice shiney lorry with side windows i could actually see through!

LPW have a franchise operating at some major sites, some already mentioned. Whitwood, Manchester, Purfleet, Alconbury, Colsterworth and Avonmouth.

We have accounts for them for a livery wash, but some of the tankcleaning stations will do us a livery too.

I got mine washed by Willi Betz this morning :stuck_out_tongue:

dont have to…the boss gets a mobile jet washer in to do the units and trailers…and it saves me a fortune in marigolds

Lymm is excellent, as is the lpw one at purfleet

use the one at hellaby have no complaints at all.cant say the same for the one we have in the depot.

yeah, to be fair, i went in with my unit this morning (thats saturday) and it came out looking the business, the business for a 99 ERF ec11 that is! as i’ve said, had a go with a brush and a jet wash, and your talking the best part of an hour for the same result!
saying that, i only went down the road a mile or so to my yard and it was already starting to get dirty. :unamused:
this must be a boon time for the truckwash lads, wonder what they do in summer?
