my idea would be to have a bit of gumption and not stop anywhere within 4 hours drive from Calais,do fridge work,and make sure its a -25 backload…works that way for me…

A running fridge be it set to -25 or +15 will make no difference to those who make a fortune out of people trafficking, if they can open the doors, you will have clandestines on board, dead or otherwise they don’t care
No one is safe. Even if you took it upon yourself to yee haw it in one hit without stopping all the way from Barcelona or Stuttgart, you’ll still be a sitting duck on the approach road in to the port when UK customs have a field day and make sure there’s a massive queue of stationary trucks suffering a full on frontal assault of illegal immigrants. I’ve argued that point with them several times in Calais and their only response was to threaten to arrest me if I didn’t shut up.
Its my firm belief that they deliberately cause the situation outside the dock gate for the very reason of levying fines and then releasing the scum bag back outside to appear the next day in another truck for another fine and another release. State run extortion at its very worst.
The UK government and the customs officers present in Calais are about as credible as a bent cop planting contraband on a vehicle for their mate to catch you with down the road. Its one big set up.
is there a petition to sign about this? all i can find is a petition for a dog that died on a P&O ferry in summer.
