Hi John…

Some memories of the Bedford at Hampshire Growers. My father was foreman there for a few years, I lived right next to the yard ( Monty lives there now ) my sister and I use to play in those wagons at the weekend, (they were never locked up). When I got older, In the summer holidays,I’d go out with the drivers to the markets or growers to collect the produce which was sold at auction that evening. I also, in the summer hols worked in the “empties yard” getting the crates for the local growers to put their produce in. Cauliflower, Lettuce, Cabbage crates, bushel boxes, Half bushels, potato boxes etc. They also had a couple of Vulcans. I don’t recognizance the people in the photo, but I bet I went to the school with the children . Great photo Buzzer.

Sad to report the passing of Ian “scattercash” Helliwell last week, pulled many years for A.S.Rawlings then went on to bulk on his own account, his nick name says it all RIP mate sorry this is attached to another post but that is the downfall of this stupid new version of TNUK, Buzzer.

A rare site of the man with cash in hand.

One from Southampton, believed to be “Rocky” aka Steve Cherret

Have a fresh one on me!

Thankyou very much franglais, only 8 consecutive posts which only goes to justify going back to the old format, here are some of me early trip to Italy over Mt Cenis. in the 70’s.

Real shame about this new format, however, some things never change
The infamous Greatbridge Rd Railway bridge has this morning ensnared an innocent Scania which was just going about it’s business with a Maersk box on the back

If only there was a great big yellow thing in front of the bridge and height warning signs as you drive through the town :rofl::rofl:

Here is a shot of an old company, it says Andover on the door but the head office is Eastleigh, one for Franglais to research maybe, Buzzer
