HMMMM !!! you are too good for this place!!!

Right another of Chris Hill’s pics he reckon’s only a Baker’s or Hill’s driver will know this location!!!

Hi no one seems to know where this was taken so I will tell you it was the entrance to Joe Sullivans yard near Waterlooville, the A3M now runs right along side where the yard was.

Now where is this? Sorry about the quality but there is a slight clue the road sign!!

Hi as the pic was so poor quality I will tell you where this was taken, Chris Hill informs me it is at the Stoney Cross junction on the A31 in the New Forest before that juntion was closed to traffic crossing over the A31

Anyone know where is this then?

My reply on the 140 thread

LB76:

Hi Bill this was taken outside Poole Docks

PHO100P started life as 4X2 and was bought new in 1976 off of Unit Commercials Salisbury, by a Norman Asher, who was a subby for Sea Route Ferry (Southampton) many years ago he also ran a Scania 110. Norman did not keep it long and soon sold it to Brant’s of Tadley a demolition company. It had a very hard life with them till I bought it just around the time that the weights went up to 38 tons. We then converted it to a 6X2 using the backend of a ‘Cartwrights’ Scania 110 rigid.

Pat ref the pic of the sea route truck can I have 2 stabs at this either it is Jayat between Tournus and Bourg or The Forge on the old road from Rouen to Le Havre

Not one of yours Pat, in a bit of trouble… is it…

Hi Dave,
Hope you are well, I think Mappo may know something about this,as he had an experience like this in Scotland, also the tyres look like they are Bridge Tone’s. You can see where he went wrong he took the River Route, when he should have taken the Sea Route

Richard

Hi Richard, take no notice of that old ■■■■ Philips, :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: i thought that was very clever and very funny.
Dunno what the solution to the problem would be though. Call in Superman maybe.

Last night ( Sat. ) i had the honour of attending the " Portuguese drivers reunion " in bournemouth.
An event that has been successfully organised annually by Ray Caswell and Steve holland.
Far too many old boys there to mention, but i was sat at a table and shared a bottle or two of vino with
Walter ( ex Davies )…Derek Ford…Roy ( winky ) Toleman and last but not least Chippy.
While there i managed to have a chat with the man that showed me the ropes on my first trip to Spain
35 years ago, Rodney Redgrave…and sat with him was a true gent… Phil Grant.
What a great night.

I’d say Jayat in the foto.

Mappo: I hope you promoted this site and the fotos on here and our own get together the other week?

Gazzap sent you a pm
Regards Jacko
