Long Departed Southampton Hauliers (Part 1)

Hi Tony no not Comptons it was definitely STS think it was a Volvo can’t think who the driver was but I heard the truck was found up in the mountains somewhere M/T of course, like you say someone on here will tell us !!
R Jimski

STS only had two of their own lorries at that time Jim, the two drivers being Ginger and Tim
I,m pretty sure it was,nt Ginger so it must have been our friendly landlord Tim.

Hey Tony I was thinking Tim I reckon your right ! Were have to ask him, good excuse to go see him !!  :unamused:
What you got Monday■■?
R Jim

This Marathon of Ings Tpt of Fordingbridge is seen heading for the Truckline ferry in Poole about 1984

A couple of Steve Williamson’s pics he has let me put on here. His dad Alan RIP was a Sea Route driver at their Heywood depot.

DMW 488L on it’s side on the Chilworth roundabout in 1980 driver was Frank Brandon.

John Smith’s 140 he was a Sea Route Manchester subby

ainacs:
HMMMM !!! you are too good for this place!!!

Right another of Chris Hill’s pics he reckon’s only a Baker’s or Hill’s driver will know this location!!!

Hi no one seems to know where this was taken so I will tell you it was the entrance to Joe Sullivans yard near Waterlooville, the A3M now runs right along side where the yard was.

Now where is this? Sorry about the quality but there is a slight clue the road sign!!

I’d like to take a guess, by that I mean I mean I’d like to take a guess but I hav’nt really got clue but does the sign read A33?

Hi Dave,
Hope you are well, I think Mappo may know something about this,as he had an experience like this in Scotland, also the tyres look like they are Bridge Tone’s. You can see where he went wrong he took the River Route, when he should have taken the Sea Route

Regards
Richard
