It was Dave Elkins saw him the other day at Ower services driving for ISO Tank from Redcar,he was planning to go to Aussie for another trip, Mick Collier from Hythe also drove for Duncan,as Jim says the good old days.

Chris Hills pic looks just like Hove heading towards Shoreham, but I’m probably wrong because someone brought me round a bottle of Jamesons tonight,(No not the transport company Jim :unamused: ) which I had to sample  and I am under the affluence of incahol cheers.

Hi lads. What was the name of the big boozer opposite the cafe/digs and the Calor depot on (I think) Millbrook Road. IIRC it was dual carriageway,I think there was a Freightliner depot near the cafe as well,at least there was in the 70s.

That was it,the Regents Park, can see it now, full of nice 'ampshire girls. I used to stay at ■■ Seven Dials?? on the A33 comung into S’oton, then some digs called ??Cliff Ore?? near the Juniper Berry, which, incidentally,I never got thrown out of but know one or two that did. That motel type place at Millbrook was ok as you could get a meal late on,suited me as I very often ran over the book and tipped/loaded at ISR a bit late.
And I would never go in a boozer called the “Jolly Sailor”,reminds me of “rum, bum and baccy”,not my cup of tea,I was a humble,Sheffield lad,led a sheltered life - only 'cos I was born in an Anderson shelter.
