Yes youre right they did have a depot in the fruit market in Southampton .
I worked on the agency for them in the late eighties.

Weren’t they from St Austell, or somewhere in Cornwall ? and had a depot in Soton ?

Rowe & Co. were originally formed in Cardiff, Sth. Wales in 1880 and shortly after moved to
Redruth in Cornwall.
Obviously i was,nt around at the time 
i,ve just googled it but dont how to put the link on here.
I remember loading out of their place in Soton. fruit market in the late 60,s early 70,s when working for
Oberyield / Simons, a company that at the time supplied fruit and veg to all Woolworths stores.

Tony you are right about Rowes,we used to tip Geest Banana’s at their Redruth premises back in the early 70’s, thanks for all your extra week-end work to obtain drinking vouchers for us all,Charlie wondered if there might be enough for a Taxi from Alton to Shedfield and back? 
How about me organising a trip to Torino via Mont Cenis for those that want to go in a coach and a couple of Mini’s we could rob some gold and come back over the Cenis ! I don’t think it’s been done before,the only snag is I gave Badger my last Non Quota Permit and Fingers stamped the front !
