Long Departed Southampton Hauliers (Part 1)

Hi Pat & all other Irish folk happy St Patricks day for tomorrow.
Rich

Thank you Richard

A bit before most people’s time on here but the name lived on… courtesy of Pat Kennet.

Very sad to hear about Stan the Man. Happy memories of his time at Sea Route in the late 70’s. I worked in the office, sorting out the French groupage. Can’t make it to the funeral, but could anybody let me know Fran’s address so I can send a card.

Hi

Could you please send me a private message or call me for her address.

cheers Rich

Hi Gary I did put this one on a long time ago

I thought I had seen it before Pat, it was from a book.
Just like this one, I assume this was before the dealership days.

Hey Pat, that guy stood on the left, the one next to the guy with the white hat, what’s that X on his back for, between his shoulder blades :exclamation: …where you stick the knife in I guess. … That’s road transport for you… :unamused:

Was he bald back then Fergie47? Many have tried, many have tried…

Hi Gary I remember DMW488L well in fact I was talking with Tony Lowden the original driver a short while back!

Sea Route had 5 DMW’s I think 487 through to 491 around 1979 they re engined them all and I collected each new engine from Unit Commercials at Salisbury on a VW pick up I had.seen here next to my AEC Mrecury

Another of Bubbleman’s gems

I think this is one of R K Crisp’s Big J Guys who used to have a yard at Swathling Southampton

Hi Rod Redgrave here - known as Remould - first time on this site, just finding my way around. Does anyone remember me?
