(nearly said fiddle then). When I was at Royers They took over Boyes Conning. Then we were told it was a merger. Then some of us were paid by Royers and some by Boyes Conning.Make of it what you will.I,ve been out of it for a long time now and have lost touch.Someone out there will have some info I,m sure Sad day for the lads. I know their diesel supplier did’nt get paid and won’t supply now. I’d bet on one of the old company names taking the hit and coopers being hero’s and buying it all as a going concern! There must be a good tax reason for Coopers keeping Boyes and Royers all in existance, maybe now is ‘that rainy day’. I hope its all kept going by the administrator until they sort themselves out. Did they not just lose a big contract to Harris’s etc?

BFC Transport was owned by Bill Aldridge based in Chandlers Ford on what is now ASDA. Barry Jellis was the transport manager he left and started PENTALVER. AKT was Arthur Kneller. Together Barry and Arthur started SHAMARA. The company with the yellow Fodens was PBC who later were CABMONT and then BRITISH INTERNATIONAL. Also around at the time, EUROHAUL, JAMESONS, STRATTONS, RIJBA, SRT, and many other small hauliers and one man bands but that was the days when haulage was a thriving industry in the Southampton area.
