Long Departed Southampton Hauliers (Part 1)

Jeremy, any idea is worth doing as long as it saves money. I bumped into to you a few times in and around France around the late 80’s I think? I was on for RS Hills at time IIRC :smiley:

That was a new trailer, I probably stripped it out in the yard to put JCB’s on, Cheeky Basxxxx■■?
I was pretty good at it though, even Mr Hales paid me a compilment as there were 3 other traliers in the yard at Anderson rd the time all stripped & loaded he said look at all of them they are tidy like yours, I did say they were mine, he then went back in the office.
& before anyone says it!!! yes I did lose one of the front of a flat trailer & damaged the back of the cab but that was a loadall & you couldn’t keep them still!

they were ont transmission hand brake & never were adjusted, & you weren’t allowed to chain them (it scratches the paint!!!) but I did in the 1st layby down the road, LTS flats never had headboards

If Mappo had’nt smoked all those year’s he’d be able to have bought a decent computer and answer for himself eh jim just think of the money he would have saved he certainley did’nt spend it on desighner clothes did he.

I remember Bert Hayes,and his sons Peter & Mick good people I ran hanging meat for them to the army bases in Germany in the 70’s, i think you are being unkind to Mappo all his clothes are hand made for him by George Asdari :unamused:
