Richard I am pretty sure EAA458S was new to Dean’s of Salisbury as I recognise the colour scheme and it is hooked to a bulk trailer, he was out West Dean I believe and then moved on to the industrial estate near the MOT test centre in Salisbury, then sold that and bought a big bit of land near Peters Finger where they are today half of which I think he sold for development to what it is today, of course I may be wrong but Gazzer will know, cheers Buzzer.
Good evening all.
JC Dean was at Durrington before Churchfields Inds estate Buzzer
He was also connected with J&J Transport (the other J being john Eustace) out at South Cerney nr Cirencester who ran similar green/yellow livery

Only recently I was talking to someone about SHB 4X4 Hire (as I remember them). They were on the TV for some reason and they hadn’t heard of them.
Did they start off in Hampshire? With just a couple of Land Rovers…
STRAIGHT EIGHT:
Nice pic’s there maggie, does anybody know what happend to the famous Don Bush and his Multidrive??
When i was working for Oakmount Recovery some 15 years ago, we got called out to a road in the Mendips, It was the Mulidrive the driver had pulled on to the verge
to let someone by and as he steered out on to the road the steering axle on the trailer pulled the trailer in to a deep ditch, and with help of a full load it twisted lorry
and it was written off. The lorry was in yard a while then i think it went up North

Hi Rich
I think you will find it was me that recovered that off spread eagle hill in Dorset .
I remember it well as I had to shovel off 20 ton of sand by hand.
Heres one of my dads old TK’s taken at Southamptons 1973 rag week procession
The ‘sepia’ look adds a bit of nolstaga, good pic.
We used to call Tony A1 Gatrell (rather than A I) seem to remember he was a top carpenter and did a couple of small office conversions using his skills (bit of a hooligan on a motorbike back in the day too )
Just to stop us dropping off page 1,a photo of Keith Ozards F88,I brought it off him on a Saturday morning,we took his name off it and shipped to Michelin Clermont Ferrand with a load from Fawley on Sunday, tipped and reloaded 2 cable winding machines from Bergamo Italy, for Pirelli at West quay rd,it was August and they came in specially to load us. I couldn’t understand how Angie had 5 young men to strip her tilt, and I was up the other end of the factory with some old 70 year old

Hi Charlie,
No it was an old boy (like mappo !) he had been in the Italian navy and still had his uniform on I said my friend Charlie was in the Royal Navy, and he had R.N. on his uniform, and my friend Tex was in the Marines in America, and he had U.S.M. On his uniform, obviously standing for the Royal Navy, and United States Marines. What does I.M.B. stand for on your uniform ? He replied It’sa My Boat !
Regards
Richard
Richard, 5 young Italian men stripping Angie’s tilt and you not around, should say that was a bit risky. I know she can handle herself cos she has managed to keep you in check all these years, the power of female eh ! regards JD.

Bought up lots of firms round the country including J & H at Nottingham hauling for Plasterboard out of East Leake & Gotham.
Salut, David.
PS Or was that BFI?
It stood for Barney, Flowers and Compton, and they had an office in Canute Road in the early 70s. They were primamrily a Poole, Longdown area people.
