MaggieD:
Hi Jim,

What can I say ! Brilliant model up to your usual standard,I don’t know where you find the time, with your day job as well  I can see it in a lay-by now in France with Valerie’s moped leaning against it :unamused: :unamused:

Will call you later and bring the tanker pics.

Richard

Hi Rich,

Like a bird on a breadcrumb you land with unerring accuracy onto one of my most treasured memories of the old
‘Saulieu Shuffle’

Ohdear:
Found ana old photo of the A E Strattons Transport tables for the Road Haulage Dinner Dance Southampton Polygon Hotel 1973

In this photo is Steve Harbutt (Road Transport Manager) and his wife Wendy, and a 16 year old wife to be for Albert Stratton, her mother is in the foreground wearing the animal. not sure of the others round the table, some employees others were contacts from Pirelli, the strattons at that time had 3 tables. I will look for more photos.

Hi Ohdear, nice photo with A.E. Stratton Transport conections from 1973. I recognised the people that you pointed out including Alberts now wife Lorraine. The young lady in the green dress I’m sure is his eldest daughter and the chap sporting the beard is Kim Foreman who was then a transport clerk for Pirelli General, Southampton. There has been some mention of Strattons on here before but no photos as yet so if you have some we would be glad to see them. I think I know where I may be able to borrow a couple one being from an article in “The Motor Transport” and if so I will post them on here. How come you have this photo did you work for them or have some conection with the Company?

]Re: RHA 1973…AE Stratton Transport, Polygon, Southampton.

In suspense…come on “Oh Dear”…who are you?

Hi all found this pic not sure who’s behind the wheel but looks very much like Longo “Mick” that is am i right? dont know where it is either does any one recognise it?

Looks like Slick Mick in there Buzzer before he had his nameplate maybe.

Charlieone: I heard that of you, need a magnifying glass to see your ■■■■ Hampton, GAZIOW’s friend Valerie always recalls your visits.
Why were you upstairs in the Hotel du Ferry Boat?

Jimski: I bet the cab on that plastic one lasts longer than the metal in the original! Nice job man!
Yes I did go to Sweden in 1980 just as the Intercooler F12 were being announced. Went with Dave Parsons (Eurohaul subbie) and John (Jelly) Jelbart (Eurohaul workshop Manager).

Evening all. It was I that took the pic, yes it is Longo and sat in the passenger seat leaning back was Dave Bocock, who was doing a trip also for STS. It was taken in Le Havre. I was on Friday nights boat home and Mick was staying there until Sunday night to wait for a trailer to come over. He convinced me to go for a meal with him and Dave in Le Havre which I did do, but as I was on the boat that night, Mick ended up giving me the keys to his tractor unit so I could get back in time and then I was instructed to park it opposite the terminal and leave they keys under the drivers side front tyre. That was the general message Mick gave anyway!

Probably free of charge in those days, unless traniht was the pilot. Can visualise him now stood on the runway with a portable set of scales and a book of raffle tickets.

Horry:
Hi Jim yet another superb model, details so good. Cannot wait to see it in front of a tanker. All you need to do now is nip down Toys ‘R’ Us, purchase the smallest / shortest Action Man you can find, coat the figure in fifth wheel grease and stand it next to the Iveco - Hey Presto! I life-like model of Mr Brady!!!

Hi Horry,
I nipped into Toy’s R Us,couldn’t find an action man,but I brought you some play dough, and here’s a pic if you want to have a go at making your own,I’ll supply the Guiness /Bacardi & Coke
I remember going to Pete Mongers (R.I.P.) funeral in Coventry,Terry Weeks(Grizzly) picked me up from home off we go to Mr Brady’s house to get the mini bus Tony has acquired from somewhere :unamused: as we pull up the man himself is dressed in his best bib & tucker pouring 5 gallons of diesel (I didn’t see the colour ) from a dirty old drum, nothing changes

Here you are John Eurohaul owned it from new then a Keith Ozzard

MaggieD:
Hi Pat.
Great pic of SCR 455N, Tribsa is right it was a F88 240, here’s another shot of it on container work, not your usual Southampton 204 berth, lifting off an empty in Trieste Italy. Keith Ozzard owned it after Eurohaul, and then I had her for a few years good old motor
Regards MaggieD

Hi Pat that’s not the Volvo the late John Coffin ran on Eurohaul is it? The reg rings a bell.

Richard

Hi Jeremy,
You are indeed correct, and John’s guess of Lorraines also wins tonights star prize.
Dave’s brother Andy also worked for me,I’ve lost touch with them both but last I heard Dave was living in Lanzarote.
Hope you are well, when are you coming round ?
