Buzzer:
Firstly I am late posting todays letter as it seems every now and then TNUK is hard to get up on the computer so here goes, todays letter is “R” for Renault so over to you Richard for the pics.
And it is nice to see some very early pics of J.C.Dean so many thanks to Pete359 for posting them, definitely a Mary Hopkin moment there and don’t they take you back into the world we all started in,cheers Buzzer.
Hi all todays got to be national Pat day as the letter is “S” for Scania and I have posted a pic of a couple of Dutch one’s just to be different, but we did own the unit on the left efectionately known as the block of flats,Scott that worked for us and drove this tried to kill it but he could not do it,if it had been 3.8 wheelbase it would have been a crackin motor.
Hi Buzzer,
S is for Scammell ,…and this recently-restored S 24 was eye-catching when it was on show
at Barnard Castle Truck Show , a couple of years ago.
Ward Bros. of Co. Durham first operated this S 24 , then it was unused for a while prior to the restoration.
Maybe it`s one of the last examples of true British engineering.
That must be an early F10 EAA 458S, my old F89 was EAA 455S.
Regards
Richard
Hi Richard
is this before or after?
0
Colin.
Hi Colin,
That’s after I sold it to Ian Rycroft (R.I.P.) who had it totally refurbished by Princes Commercials including a new cab,and then sent it to work in Bosnia, later on he sold it to a guy in Ringwood to haul his vintage boat around Europe, that looks like him in the passenger seat of your photo. I think he still has it,this pic below is taken somewhere in Scandanavia I think.
