Hi guys, I’m wondering if anyone familiar with London may be able to give me a bit of advice.
I’ll be travelling from the A406 at Wembley to the A314 at Hanworth, departing at around 5pm tomorrow in a 16’2" artic.
I’ve done the journey twice so far and have taken a different route each time. Both were stop/start and in some residential areas I’d have rather avoided.
Tomorrow I’m thinking of heading back out on to the M25 to go South, then A30 - A308 - A316.
I was thinking there was a bridge that would stop you going that way, but you’d leave the 205 before it.
Additionally you could hop on the M4 at Chiswick and back off at J3 as a split between the two options. ( I had to load up the route on the PC for that to be pointed out to me!)
All 3 options are suggested as 50 / 51 min drive with a 5pm depart on tomtom.
Great, thank you. That part of the journey is planned for 1hr but it has taken me more like 1hr 30 both times. I’ll try the A40 / A312 tomorrow and see how it goes, then maybe try the M4 way next time. Those 2 look like the best 2 options.
Thanks again for the advice. The A312 option is a lot better than the ways I had previously been. Time wise not a lot in it, but far less stressful. I think I’ll take that every time, although there is a weight limit along it at certain times of the day. Luckily not when I was coming through
Now at Membury services on the way back after a fire closed the M4, but should just about make it back in my driving time!
