they drop cement in CPI where im working at the moment from Buxton lime…
The impression i get is that if you do days or nights, you’ll get a double manned cab, lime during the day and fly ash from drax on nights!
if you tramp then you’ll get predominantly on the ash job, with the odd lime to make the load count up!
seems a good craic TBH… the drivers that come into CPI always seem happy
B…
Cpi in Irlam?
I tipped CPI Irlam Tuesday morn, day drivers do mainly home county cement, if you tramp, you could be on anything depending on the size of tank, lads with tank size of 36/40 cube do mainly cement & ash, and 43/49/50 cube tanks due mainly lime & waste veolia ash !

Is that the work Seafield used to do? Used to see them in Lloyds regularly, not seen Lomas in there before.
yes Andrew v8 when seafields finished lomas took over and took seafield drivers on, we have 3 loads limestone a week and tidy firm .
That’s right mate ! When seafields finished we took the Ashbourne seafields over & kept the drivers on & left them on the ballidon work what they were on ! So same lads same work different lorry, all good lads ! Well I am biased, as I was on for Seafield Ashbourne 18 months ago !
well 6 months av gon by with lomas after he took us all on and from seafields and can honestley say its the best move ever good unit and craking tank with big blower fited plus pay rise happy days

spoke to a few of their drivers on my travels and they are happy enough, not your usual moaners like some. good pay so they say and they have a smart fleet.

Like dave i too have had a night out and shared a laugh an a joke with a couple of there lads, and they seemk to have the best of both worlds. Decent kit decent money easy work, and get to keep their own trailer… Can’t be bad…
They do a lot of work for Tarmac , running cement from Buxton Lime ,
I’m sure I read on here somewhere that that drivers give up holiday pay in lieu of all the shiney bits , lights etc ( i’m prepared to stand corrected )
One of our drivers jumped ship to drive for Lomas , an experianced guy ., he told me that there are different types of tanker work both clean and dirty . The work that means the truck is going to get dirty is not done by the boys in the blinged up motors. Depends what colour your eyes are They also run tippers and have a heavy recovery side too.
I do agree though , a very smart looking fleet in the main .
